Chapter 6: Love

The moment that the ambulance got to the hospital the hospital was already ready for her. They had a stretcher and a heart monitor outside and before you know they were hooking Alexandra up to everything. After a length of ten minutes she was in the (ICU) intensive care unit. She had an endotracheal tube connected to open up her airways since she couldn't breathe on her own. Within 5 minutes Samuel was at the hospital asking where Alexandra was.

"Where is she? I need to see her!" He said with so much urge that he was almost yelling.

"Sir, I can't let you see her right now she in critical condition right now and she has lost a lot of blood." The nurse said stepping in front of him.

"Come on! Please, there has to be something that I can do?" Samuel proclaimed trying his hardest to see Alexandra.

Getting angry the nurse said, "The only thing that you can do right now is go in the waiting room and sit in there!"

"Fine." He said turning around to go into the waiting room which just happened to be right outside Alexandra's room.

Samuel sat down trying to get the sight of his girlfriend on the floor and bleeding heavily out of his mind. But as hard as he tried the images kept running through his mind, never-ending and painfully restarting. After minutes of thinking about what he could have done he broke down into tears and puts his head into his hands. Just as he was getting weaker and weaker with the pain Moriah comes running down the hallway and sees Samuel. When she saw him she let a tear roll down her face and walked up to him.

"Samuel I am so sorry that this happened. I should have listened to you and had gone in there sooner! This is all my fault. She will be better soon though right?" Moriah said trying to get the hopes up.

Looking up with tears dripping down his face he said, "Are you really asking me that question? Does it really look like I have your answers?" Raising his voice a little bit, "ALL I KNOW IS THAT SHE LOST A LOT OF BLOOD AND IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION!"

Stepping closer to Samuel she proclaimed, "Look Samuel I said I am sorry and I am sorry for not being here sooner but the cops are here and they want a statement."

Sitting back down he quietly said, "Tell them that I will give them a statement when I am ready to. Right now I just really want to be by myself so I can think."

Wiping away some of her tears she said, "I will tell them but I don't know how long they will hold it off."

Samuel said nothing and just waited for her to leave. Then he said getting tears back in his eyes, "Please don't leave me Alexandra, I can't live without you!"

Suddenly a nurse comes out, "Samuel you can go in and see her but be careful. We have gotten her breathing and her heart stabilized but just for the time being we don't quite know what happened so we have to check on her every once in a while. Maybe later on you could tell us what happened so we could do further analyzations."

His spirits lifting a little bit he said, "Sure. Thank you so much, um where is her room?"

"She is right across the hall. Right there!" She proclaimed pointing to the room in front of the both of them.

"Thank you!" He said again quickly walking into her room.

When he saw her he almost broke into tears again because of how he saw her. Her head was wrapped in medical bandages and she had the breathing tube hooked up with the heart monitor beating ever so slightly. He sat in the chair next to her hospital bed and grabbed her hand tightly. He looked down at her hand and brought it up to her lips and kissed them slightly.

"I love you Alexandra! Don't leave me please, not like this I am begging you." He said thinking that she was worse than she actually was.

"Samuel," Said the nurse that was already behind him. "She isn't that bad honestly but she is in a coma. That probably isn't too good to say, I'm sorry!"

He looked at her then looked back at Alexandra, "It is fine."

"I need to do some readings on her. Do you think that you could tell me what happened to her while I am checking her?" She asked not trying to push him too hard to tell her.

"Yeah sure!" He said quietly placing her hand down and turning towards the nurse, "My girlfriend wanted to go to school to show people that she was strong but as soon as we got out of my car a girl came over and started to yell at her and bully her. Then our new friend Moriah got there and they scattered like rats. After that Alexandra went into the bathroom and didn't come out for a while so I sent Moriah in there since I couldn't and she screamed. Not knowing what was happening I ran in there and one of the girls had pushed Alexandra into a sink and she was bleeding badly. Moriah had pushed the girl into a mirror to get her out of the way but I pushed past them and picked her up and brought her outside while Moriah called the ambulance which got there pretty quickly. But they wouldn't let me go with them so I drove as fast as I could."

"Wow I am so sorry that that had happened she looks like a very sweet girl." The nurse said putting her hand over her heart.

Grabbing Alexandra's hand again he explained, "She is! She is the sweetest girl in the world, so it makes me dumbfounded when someone starts to bully her."

The nurse started leaving before she quietly said, "I wish I had someone like you when that was happening to me."

Before he could say anything else she had left. After an hour of watching Alexandra he fell asleep still holding her hand and his head was laid lightly on her stomach.
