Being the person that I am, I started panicking. My palms started sweating and I felt hot blood flush to my face.
Breathe Kelly, BREATHE. Inhale, exhale; inhale, exhale... Okay, now talk to him!
"So, hum... Have you been to a Colplay concert before?"
Yay! You go girl!
Scott turned to look at me,
"No. I tried to get tickets to their concert in town next week but..."
My heart leaped and I started jumping up and down
"THEY'RE HAVING A CONCERT IN TOWN?!!"
Surprised by my exitment and loudness (yes, I am a very hyper person), Scott stared at me with a facial expression that ressembled this one: O.o
"Hum... yeah; but as I was trying to say, they are sold out."
My exitment suddently dropped to 0%. I had just missed my opportunity yo see my idols!! And the only reason being my stupid computer that suddently shut down on me so I couldn't get the latest updates of my favorite band! WHY?? This had to happen to me.
"That really sucks," I said, after a couple seconds of awkward silence. "Who would have thought Coldplay could actually come to our little town that lies in the middle of nowhere and that I could possibly miss it!"
"Yeah, I know. But I think I can get us tickets, I have a friend who works for the concert place."
Wait. Did he just say us?
"Hum... I'm sorry, did you just say us?"
He turned to me again.
"Well you do want to go, don't you?"
I gave him a 'are-you-seriously-asking-me-this-question' look.
"So you want a ticket, right?" He answered, lifting an eyebrow.
"YES!! I mean yes. That would be great, thank you."
I gave him my number so he could text me if he got the tickets and spent a wonderful lunch together.
I had a chance to go to the Coldplay concert!! And even better, with Scott!
As soon as I got home after school, I called Julie and told her about my whole conversation with Scott. Knowing her well, I lifted the phone off of my ear so that she could scream without making me deaf. After her little freakout, I put the phone back on my ear and told her my plan.
"So basically you're going to make him like all of you like by showing him all your passions so that you can have lots of similarities and make it easier to date?" She asked.
"Yup."
"Kelly Gray, you are genius. I am very proud to be your best friend."
"I know, I know, I'm amazing!" I said, flipping my hair in a "fabulous way", and even if she couldn't see it because I was on the phone, I still enjoyed it.
"Okay Miss high ego, I have to go. See you tomorrow!"
"Bye! I love you!"
"Love you more!"
"Love you most!"
"Love you mostest!"
"Love you mostestest!!"
You get the idea, to hang up was very hard, we had a very competitive friendship.
I took out my books to start my homework and received a text message from an unknown number.
'Hey Kelly, this is Scott. I got the tickets! The concert is on Friday, do you want me to pick you up?'
Yep, you guessed it: my heart flew to the moon and back picking up extra happiness from the man on there (AN: if anybody read "Tame", I stole this expression from there). I texted him back a couple of minutes later so I didn't seem desperate.
'Hey Scott :) Yay! I'm really excited! And yes, I probably need a ride. Thank you soooo much! :D'
He replied almost instantly.
'Great! Is 6 pm alright? We could go get dinner and then head off to the concert which starts at 8? :)'
Since he replied instantly, I did the same.
'That sounds great :)'
'Wear something nice ;)'
That night, I went to bed the happiest girl ever.
