On Friday night, all of the girls met up at Hunter's house around six 'o'clock. Aria, and Kaycee followed Hunter upstairs to her enormous bedroom. The light through the window bounced off of the light purple walls. Kaycee bounced onto Hunter's bed. Aria sat on the floor and ran her fingers through the shaggy carpet. A knock on the door made them all jump.
Hunter shuffled back down the stairs and opened the front door, letting in a gust of wind. Brooke stood on the welcome mat, with her backpack slung over her shoulder. Hunter smiled. "Hey, Brooke."
"Hi, Hunter," Brooke grinned, coming into Hunter's bedroom. They all spread out around the room. Brooke looked at the photos on the walls. Hunter looked happy in every single one.
Aria stood up and walked over to Brooke. "So you're from Boston?"
Brooke turned her head and sat next to Kaycee on the bed, dropping her shoes onto the floor. "Yup. My dad is in the military so we move a lot."
"Oh, that must be tough. I was going to move to California but my mom said I could stay with my boyfriend, Alec." Aria added.
Brooke looked surprised. "They're letting you stay with your boyfriend?"
Kaycee looked up. "I wish you could stay with me but my parent said no."
Aria shrugged and crossed her legs. "It's OK. Alec's parents are pretty cool, I guess."
Hunter's bedroom door slowly creaked open. Hunter ran to the door once she realized who it was. Blake poked his head through the door. All of the girls looked up.
"Umm, Hunter? Where's the peanut butter?" Blake asked. The girls all snickered.
Hunter rolled her eyes. "Next to the bread." She abruptly shut the door and sat back down.
Aria raised an eyebrow, "Who was that?"
"Umm, Peter's son, Blake." Hunter avoided eye contact and fidgeted with a knot in her hair.
"What?" Kaycee said, leaning toward Hunter.
"Nothing." Hunter stood up. "Want hot chocolate."
"Tell us," Aria pleaded.
Hunter shook her head, "It's nothing. Promise."
