Chapter 20

"TAKE ME TO CHURCH I'LL WORSHIP LIKE A DOG AT THE SHRINE OF YOUR LIES!" We all sang along to the radio as the car drove to the ice cream shop Mason said was the best.

As I screamed at the top of my lungs the lyrics to the song on the radio, I bobbed my head since it was a rad-ass song. To the end of the song, Mason joined in on the fun and together we sang. Whenever his eyes would drift off the road, it'd slap him and tell him to focus on the road.

"Okay, okay! No more slapping, it hurts! Besides we're in traffic."

I focused on the road and saw a huge pile of cars streaming on in front of us. "Are we close to the ice cream shop because I really don't like traffic." I frowned at the river of traffic.

"We're actually really close, but with traffic like this we'll be there in 30 minutes. This will give us time to listen to my amazing singing!" Mason started singing along to the radio as I laughed at his horrible singing.

I covered my ears to block out his singing. "You're making me want to jump out of this car!"

"Sing with me, Iz!" I faintly heard his voice through my hands. I shook my head.

"Come on now."

"Nope."

"Sing."

"No."

And then it happened. I think my ears started bleeding after this. "LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO, LO-LO-LOVE ME LIKE YOU DO! TOUCH ME LIKE YOU DO, T-T-TOUCH ME LIKE YOU DO. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?" Mason screamed out right beside my ear.

I couldn't help but giggle at his poor attempt at making me join in, but it worked. I started singing along with him and we started twisting the lyrics to it would be funny.

30 minutes of horrible singing and worse puns later...

"Holy crap! We made it! We're here, baby!" Mason screamed as he found a parking spot for us to park in.

"Finally! Another minute in that traffic would have driven me crazy."

"But you loved me singing, didn't you?" Mason leaned closer to me, giving me smile.

I laughed. "No. I probably would have died if you sang one more song," I softly shoved his shoulder as we walked to the entrance of the place. "Where are we anyways? Did you bring me here to brutally kill me?"

"Yes, I did bring you here to drag you to a torture chamber where you will be hurt in many ways and then cut in half with a chain saw," Mason took my hand and quickly pulled me into the place, which I realized was a simple diner, and we bumped into a lady.

I stare up at the lady in front of us as Mason was grinning widely beside me. "Oh, Mason, haven't seen you around here in a while. Where's your little brother today, and who is this beautiful young lady you have brought here?" the woman brightly smiled at me, I returned the gesture, but didn't say anything.

"This is my girlfriend Izzy. This is Ms. Smith. She's a really good friend of mine. I used to come here everyday just for her amazing pancakes." She stretched out her hand and I gladly shook it.

"Nice to meet you Ms. Smith."

"I've been wondering when Mason's taste in girls will ever improve, and he surely went past my expectations. Come on in, have some pizza. This one's on the house. I haven't seen you," she pointed to Mason. "In a long, long time young man. Visit me more, and being this beautiful young lady with you next time."

I blushed a little at her last sentence. Ms. Smith directed us to a table for two and after she left I couldn't help but smile at Mason. "I didn't know you had a heart in there for an love." I poked his chest, directly wear his heart is.

"Is it that surprising to find out that I have a nice heart? I didn't know you thought so lowly of me," Mason gave me a fake frown, which I laughed at.

A few seconds later a waitress came to take our order. She was smiling and was looking very nice, that was when I realized she was smiling at Mason, and only Mason. "Welcome to our diner, what would you like to order?" The waitress blinked her eyes at Mason while she gave him this disturbing flirty smile.

"Excuse me, but you forgot to give us the menus," I told her, she turned to me and gave me a snort and walked off to get the menus. This felt like a scene from a cliché book, but it honestly felt weird, especially since Mason and I are together now.

The waitress came back with the menus, and we ordered, well it was mostly Mason who ordered since the waitress wouldn't listen to me. After she left, Mason bursted out laughing.

I raised my brows. "What are you laughing at?"

"You turned red when you get jealous, you know that? I don't blame you for getting jealous though, she is pretty cute," I slapped Mason's arm. "I'm just kidding, you know I don't like girls who flirt with me and give my girlfriend disgusting looks," he pulled me close and kissed me on my head. I blushed and smiled to myself, how lucky was I?

When our food came, the waitress took one step backwards and stood there admiring the sight of my boyfriend eating, which was creepy. I'd glance at her once in a while as I ate and she was always starting at Mason with flirty eyes. After a while I had enough and kindly asked her to leave, but she obviously didn't.

"Excuse me but I don't think any waitress should stand right in front of their customer's table and stare at them," I told her.

She scoffed. "Why don't you mind your own business, ugly?"

"This is my business, bitch," I stood up. The waitress's mouth turned up to a smile and before I knew it I was soaked with water. My mouth was open wide as I stare at the girl right in front of me who was now being dragged by Ms. Smith to the kitchen.
