Chapter 15
“And then boom! He just leans in and kisses me! Let me tell you. Best Moment of My Life,” I admitted to Maze. “Then the next day he just tells me to ‘forget it’. Come on now! He stole my first kiss. He made the most magnificent moment of my life. And then says ‘forget it’. What a biscuit!” I yelled over at her, watching as she scoops a spoon full of her ice cream, giving no care to the story I just told her and nodding her head.
“Izzy, listen to me. It’s not that big of a deal! Seriously this ice cream is really good. Try some!” she offered me her ice cream only for it to be declined.
“Okay then. Lets change the topic. How’s the pregnancy going? Is the morning sickness getting worse? Better? Tell me.” I tried to change the topic and get what I was thinking about. Mason.
“Getting worse and worse as it goes on,” She huffed at her empty bowl of ice cream and ordered more. “Iz, I’m sorry about what I just said. I do care about what Mason said. So, how did the kiss feel?” she raised an eyebrow and leaned closer to me.
I blushed a little and answered her question. “I guess it was amazing…” I trailed off not knowing what to say.
“Come on, Izzy. We all know there was much more than ‘amazing’ to it. It was your first kiss with, which I suppose, is your crush. Think of some more adjectives! Awesome? Firework worthy? Astonishing?” the ice cream she ordered came and she dug right into it
“Well I couldn’t get it out of my head. Does that count as something? Of course not. Umm…I guess it was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Only word I could think of.” Maze just stared at me for a moment and went back to her ice cream.
“That works,” she said to me. “This ice cream is really good. You really need to try some.” She ordered an ice cream for me but I kept on saying I didn’t want any but she insisted on me eating it, so I just let her order a mint chocolate chip.
“You will love it. Believe me. Just like how you loved that kiss you got.” She teased me and all I could do was make a face to warn her to shut up, but she kept on teasing her by making kissy faces and doing the sound. So I resulted in kicking her under the table earning an ‘ouch!’ from her.
“So do you know if it’s a boy or girl?” I asked about her baby looking down at her stomach.
“Haven’t gone to the doctor’s yet. I’m going to get it checked in a few weeks.” She told me.
“Maze, I don’t think eating that much junk food will make the baby healthy.” I randomly stated truthfully. I mean, she has been eating a lot of pizza and lots of fast food. And I don’t think bringing her to this ice cream shop was a good idea either. She is on her fourth scoop of ice cream and she is nearly done with it.
“I know, but I am eating healthy. When I go home, I eat loads of salad and chocolate,” she told me. “Okay, maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned the chocolate part, but yeah.”
“Maze, from now you have to eat healthy for the baby. You want it to be healthy when it’s born, right?” she nodded. “Then, lets start by throwing away this left over ice cream in your hand.” It took the ice cream away from her and plopped it down onto the table. Her eyes looked pleading for the ice cream but she cant have any. Not when she has the baby.
“Can I at least finish eating it? Don’t want it to go to waste now do we?” she reached over but I just slapped her hand away and shook my head no.
“Maze, no. No more ice cream. You have to eat better!” I told her.
We left the ice cream place in search of the boys and some stuff to buy. We heard some commotion outside as we started to run towards the direction of it. Maze got a call and she answered. Turns out Mason ran into a guy from school and they got into a fight ‘cause the guy was apparently dissing someone. We don’t know whom. It was probably what was so noisy outside. Why would he get himself into such an idiotic fight? And the reason was because the guy was dissing someone? Seriously.
Maze and I told Aron that we would meet at Maze’s house and we quickly drover over to her house as fast as we could.
“Why the hell would you get into a fight just because he was dissing someone?” Mason’s mother yelled at him, dabbing the damp cotton bud on his cheek as Mason hissed at the pain. “You’re very stupid, you know?”
“Mom, he was insulting my friend.” He told her, pushing her arm away from his cheek and getting up from the couch. He walked upstairs and went over to his room.
“What’s his problem?” Aron asked randomly. We all just shrugged it off.
“Who got damaged the most Mason or the guy? And who was he anyways?” I asked.
“Mason was hurt more than him. It was Andrew. You know, in grade 11 I think. He was talking shit about you and Mason got super mad he just started punching him and then it just turned into a huge fight as a crowd started to gather around us. Eventually, Mason and Andrew got pulled apart and everyone just started to disappear. Andrew was taken away from the mall by some security guards while I look Mason.” Aron summed up everything.
“So the whole reason the fight started was because Andrew was talking about me?” Aron nodded. “Mason was left in a pretty bad condition and he refuses to let his mom help him. What are we gonna do? What if he gets an infection from his open wounds?” I started to get all worked up about Mason and how he was doing at this time right now. I mean he had a few open wounds and 1 black eye and loads of bruises. Why did he even have to get involved in a stupid fight? Why couldn’t he just be smart and just left him to talk about me and ignore it if it bothered him so much?
Mason, you are one stupid dummo.
