Chapter 14

“It will be mine!”

“Never! I claimed it first and it’s my buddy’s twin.”

“You’re gross! Really? You compare your 3 incher to this banana?”

“Hey! You know it’s bigger.”

I opened my eyes, groaning in the process. My arm slapped over my face and rubbed my eyes while a fight that consists of loud yelling continued.

What the hell is going on down there? I swear my friends are complete weirdoes. I thought to myself.

I turned my head to my side, looking at the view of the bookshelf filled with books and a few pictures of Mason and Aron years back. I smiled at the cute faces.

I reached over the ladder thing that got me down from the top of this blue bunk. I nearly tripped on my way down because of my sleepy state. I seriously don’t feel like moving. But no, I had to go check out what was going on downstairs.

As I walked over to the door I heard a small groan come from behind me. I turned back and caught the sight of Mason with his exposed bare chest. The memory of last night flashed into my head. How the kiss was and how I fell asleep with the only thought in my mind being the kiss Mason and I shared.

I twisted the doorknob and made my way down to where all the voices were.

“It’s the last banana and it will be mine! You know that I’m craving food all the time! Just give it!” I looked over at the table at the long, yellow fruit and wondering how can one yellow, potassium-filled banana cause so much ruckus.

Aron and Mason’s mother is out at work, so she’s lucky she doesn’t need to deal with this whole stupid situation. And their father is in a pretty deep, and I mean deep sleep. Considering he didn’t wake up to all this noise.

I slowly walked over to the table where the banana was lying and slowly picked it up while listening to the fight goes on and on.

“We’ll half it okay?” Aron said calmly.

“No! I want the full banana! And I will get it!” I looked at them and then to my side, where Mason magically appeared out of nowhere and dragged me off to the living room and out of the drama filled kitchen.

“Izzy, do you remember last night?” I tensed up at the question as I slowly nodded.

“Can we just…forget it ever happened?” he asked me. A small piece of my heart fell off because he wanted me to forget something that I’ve wanted for a long while but until last night realized I wanted it.

I faked a smile and nodded. While that smile was on my face, tears were about to spring out.

Mason smiled and just said, “good.” And we just walked apart from each other.

"Hey, Iz, Aron and I are going to the mall. Wanna come?" Maze barges into my room. "He said he would invite Mason and see if he wanted to go. I bet you two are gonna have so much fun together.” She nudged me with her shoulder. I seriously don’t think that things between Mason and I will go…well…fun. Since the whole thing about the kiss and forgetting about it (which I can never forget and you know why) we’ve been avoiding each other and we haven’t talked that much at all. Whenever we’re next together, everything just seems awkward.

“Umm…alright I guess. I really don’t have anything to do. But about Mason,” I took a long pause and continued. “Never mind about him. Anyways, so what time we going? I need time to get ready,” I told her.
