Chapter 4

IA's POV:

Across the room, I hear someone drop their drink. Everyone starts talking at once and runs to Neru to get the website from her. Aikae leaves the kitchen and walks over to Neru, before coming back with her phone in hand.

"It says that her name is Kagazune Ren, and she was created to be 20 years old. She was made about two days ago." Aikae tells me and Mayu, and I nod. "Is there any pictures of her?" I ask, and she scrolls down the page, and a picture of Ren pops up.

"Wow. She's a tank." Mayu says. I nod, biting my lip. "The worst thing is, she's related to Rin and Len, so that means she will probably be like a funny villian." Aikae says. "Why is that bad?" Mayu asks her. "Because," Aikae replies "I'll want to laugh, but I can't because I hate her!" she turns off her phone.

She groans. "I'm going to bed." she says, and stomps upstairs. I frown. "I can see why she's so mad." Mayu says, and I turn away from the stairs, to her. "She has two younger sisters, she wants to protect them." I nod. "Yeah. If I had any younger siblings, I'd be pretty mad too." I reply.

I had heard a little about Kay and Val. They were 14 and 15 and were the adopted sisters of Aikae. They ran away from their homes when they were 12 and 13, and met in Tokyo. They then wandered the country, and met Aikae somewhere along the way. I felt bad for them. They traveled the world looking for someone to stay together, only to be granted with abusive foster parents.

"Hello?" Mayu says, waking me up from my daze. "Earth to IA? You in there?" she asks me, and I nod, shaking my head. "Sorry. I'm going to hit the hay. It's pretty late. Night, Mayu." I say, hugging her. "Goodnight, IA." she tells me, and I walk upstairs to my room.

Kay's POV:

Okay so you might want to go to chapter two for this, but this is continuing from that chapter -Kay

I eventually put my phone back on my side table and get up. I walk over to Val's bed, and she looks up at me. She sets her phone down and scoots over, even though there was enough room for me to sit next to her anyways. "Hi," she tells me. "Hi," I squeak, my words barely audible. She laughs. "So..." she starts and I nod, staring at the floor. I adjust the hood of my hot onesie and look around the room.

It is only occupied with a flatscreen TV over the door, 2 twin beds for me and Val, and bedside tables next to them. The room was the same size as the others, it just felt bigger because it was only occupied by us.

I bite the inside of my cheek and look back at my feet, swinging off the side of the bed. "Kaylee?" Val finally says, using my real name. I look at her face. She had freckles lightly covering her nose and cheeks, and she had warm, inviting, brown eyes. Bags hung under them from the long nights she stayed up scrolling through twitter.

"Yes?" I finally say, my voice cracking again. She doesn't laugh this time, her face is very stern. I was worried she was going to yell at me, until she closes her eyes. We are just about to kiss, until we hear the door burst open, and we quickly separate. Neru stands in the doorway, phone in hand, looking confused at us.

"Was I uh... interrupting something?" she asks. "No!" we both say in unison, a little bit too loudly. She shrugs, not falling for it, and takes her hand off the door handle. "Well I just wanted to say that Crypton made a new VOCALOID, a Kagamine version of Zatsune. Goodnight!" she says quickly, and slams our door shut.

I groan and fall onto my bed, facing the ceiling. Val gives me a confused look. "What is it?" she says. "I feel like..." I start, but then clear my voice. I start over. "I feel like we're never safe. Always running from something." She nods, looking at her lap. "I feel that way too, sometimes. Maybe this will all blow over, and she won't come for us." Val says, trying to comfort me.

I shake my head. "I doubt it. She's probably just like Zatsune. For all we know, they could be friends and Kaga-sune is looking for us right now!" I exclaim. Val laughs, and I glare at her. "Sorry," she starts, clearing her throat. "It's just... Kaga-sune? Really?" She bursts into laughter. "I don't know her name, so why not?" she shrugs and composes herself.

"I guess we should go to bed now. It's almost 1 am." she says, and I frown. She looks at me, confused. "You almost never go to bed this early. Why tonight?" I ask her, and Val shrugs. "I don't know," she replies. "I guess I'm just more tired than usual tonight. Well goodnight, Kay."

"Goodnight, Val."

I get into my bed, and reach over to turn off my lamp. Val does the same, and I turn over to face the wall next to me. I close my eyes and start to fall asleep almost immediately. "I love you, Kaylee." Val says, but before I can reply, I fall asleep.

Yes, I know short chapter. But I'm sorry I'm (as usual) running low on idea fuel. So now Val is going to help me write. If I can find a way to make- I MEAN ASK- her help me. Oh well, goodnight ya'll :3 -Kay
