Chapter 6

Miku's POV:

So, It's summer. Summer means sweat. And I hate sweating more than anything. Before today, I would never say "hate". But  after all that's happened, I'm starting to lose my innocence. Cicadas added to the all-too-summery feeling of today. I stick my half melted ice pop in my mouth and pick up my fan.

Rin urged me and IA to come with her to this apparently "beautiful" park. Not that it wasn't beautiful. It was just so flipping hot! IA sits on the bench next to mine, her knees pulled up to her chest. She was wearing her regular outfit, and I was impressed at how cool she was acting about the temperature. Rin sits on the grass in front of me, sipping her water bottle despite how hyper her is today.

A couple sits on another bench on the other side of the park, not even acknowledging us. I take one of the hair ties out of my hair and use it to tie up the side of my shirt. I take out my other pigtail and put all my hair into a ponytail.

IA sighs on the bench next to me, and I raise my eyebrows at her. "Isn't the weather great today?" she says to herself, looking at the sky. I spit out my now melted ice pop and frown at her. She turns to me, startled. "Sorry," I tell her. "It's just... for a second I thought you said the weather was great."

"Well, I can see why because that's what I said." IA replies. I snort. "You are wearing knee high boots and you're still not hot?" I ask. She shakes her head. I roll my eyes and shrug, turning to the couple on the bench.

The man lays on his back, his head on his partner's lap. A drop of her ice pop lands on his forehead, and she giggles and wipes it off, popping her finger in her mouth. The girl looks up at the sky and smiles, her eyes squinting from the bright sunlight. She has shoulder length brown hair with two small pigtails in it, making her look much younger than her boyfriend, who looked about 18 or 20. The girl looked 14 or 15.

Rin snaps in my faces, making me turn to her. "You okay?" she asks, sounding serious for the first time today. I nod. Rin puts her hands on her hips and replies with, "Really? Because you were just staring at that couple over there (hehheheheheheheh tcot im sorry i had to -Kay) looking lonely." I shrug and look at my flip flops sitting next to me on the wooden bench. My toes brushed against the grass, tickling them.

Rin shrugs as well and sits back down in the grass, unlocking her phone. I wipe sweat off my forehead with the back of my hand, once again, and sigh. "Can home now?" I ask no one in particular. "I'm really hot." "Really? I couldn't tell." Rin says sarcastically, then adds. "I guess. I'm pretty hot, too. Come on, IA." IA groans and hops off the bench. Me and Rin get up as well and start to follow her to our hoverbikes, which were safely parked at the park's entrance.

I press a button on my blue hoverbike and hop on it, waking Hachune up from her name. I smirk at her and start my hoverbike, followed by Rin and IA. We soon fly away from the park, going in the direction of the mansion.

I has been about a week since I got my memory back, and a week since Ren came to 'check on us'. I was still confused about why she had to come check on us. Knowing Zatsune, she probably already has some way to watch us to begin with. Maybe Ren wanted to come to basically say, "Hey! I'm here and I'm way better than Zatsune and you guys have no chance of stopping me but I am going to show off anyways!".

Knowing Zatsune, that's probably why she sent Ren. But Ren never even mentioned Zatsune. Maybe I just assume that because they are both evil, Ren and my sister are BFFs now. But Ren was created not very long before she came to our house. And she came right after we got our memories back.

Talk about coincidental timing...

"Miku!" IA shouts, focusing my thoughts on the tree I am about to run into. I scream as I swerve sharply to the left, riding higher over the treetops. "Sorry," I say. "I was just lost in thought, I guess." 
"It's okay." IA replies. "Just try not to get yourself killed from now on, okay?" I laugh. "No problem."

We arrive at the mansion about 10 minutes later. I land safely on the driveway with IA and Rin, parking my hoverbike. I hop off and scoop Hachune on to my head without waking her up. I follow Rin and IA inside. I sigh in relief as the cool AC embraces me.

"I never realized how great air conditioning is until I've gone two hours without it!" Rin moans. I laugh. "I feel you," I reply, walking upstairs to my room. When I walk in, Luka is in a dark purple tanktop and pink pj pants. "Hey," I say, and she nods at me.

Luka sits on her bed with her laptop on her lap, watching a movie. "Whatcha' watchin'?" I ask her. "Movie." she replies. I shrug, realizing there is no use in making a conversation with her while she is already doing something.

Even though it is only 4 pm, I poof into my pjs and sit on my bed, scrolling through my phone. I take a can of soda out of the mini fridge after a while, and continue scrolling through my phone. I sigh. "I'm boreddddd," I whine. Luka laughs. "I can't help you with that." she says. I roll my eyes, set my phone and soda on my side table, and walk out of the room, going downstairs to help MEIKO with dinner. Or whoever is cooking tonight.
