Chapter 5: A New Journey

You, Link, and Dark walked all the way from the Temple of Time and now you were standing at the first gate that led to the castle.

On your way to the gate, some people screamed and ran at the sight of Dark. The other people that didn't run, they just gave him dirty looks. You saw that Dark looked sad, he wanted to be treated equally, but no one would bother to listen to his story.

Trying to cheer him up, you wrapped your arms around his right arm and gave it a squeeze. Dark looked down at you with a smile before giving you a gentle kiss on the forehead. When the citizens saw this, they gasped and began to murmur stuff to each other.

Once you got to the gate, things got worse.

You and the two boys approached the gate, but when the three guards who were standing guard saw you they took immediate action. They left their posts and tackled Dark to the ground, ignoring Link's orders for them to stop.

One of the man was about to stab Dark! If it hadn't had been for you, Dark would be dead. You kicked the guard's side, causing the man to fall off Dark, before you held him in your arms. There was a evil look on your face as you stared at the guards and held Dark. It was a look that said "back off or I'll kill you."

Link began to yell when the soldiers got out of their fighting stances.

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!!!" Link screamed with pure anger. "I ASKED YOU TO STOP!!!"

The soldiers bowed. "We beg for your forgiveness Master Link."

"I will except your apology once you open the gate for us" Link said sternly.

The soldiers nodded their heads and immediately opened the gates.

The exact same thing happened when you got to the second, and last, gate. Dark was attacked and Link yelled at the guards before ordering them to open the gate.

Every time Link yelled, you couldn't help but flinch. You had always imagined Link to be the nicest person ever and would never yell at anybody. If he ever did, you thought he would immediately apologize or cry in a dark corner (Tamaki Suoh XD!!!)

When you got inside the castle, it was empty and quiet. You were currently inside the throne room and right at the end of the huge room was a single golden throne. The thing was, no one was sitting on it.

"Surrender now or die!!!" An unknown voice suddenly yelled out.

A girl suddenly ran out from behind the throne and charged Dark, with a sword in hand.

Unlike before, Dark actually fought back. He thought that this girl was a bigger threat than the guards who attacked him before. Before the girl could get a blow on him, Dark unsheathed his sword and blocked the girl's attack.

Before the girl could get away, Dark kneed the girl in the stomach, causing her to fall to the floor. Dark pointed his sword at the girl's chin, making sure she couldn't get away.

Now that the girl couldn't move, you were able to get a good look at her. She had waist long brown hair up in a ponytail and chocolate brown eyes. Also she wore a blue tunic that looked a lot like Link's, but for a girl. She wore no hat though.

"What is going on in here?" A feminine voice suddenly asked.

You turned your head and saw Princess Zelda standing in front of her throne. Link immediately bowed, so you followed his lead. Dark, on the other hand, had no intention of bowing. He just continued to point his sword at the girl's neck and glare at her.

"Princess! I must ask you to leave, it is not safe here at the moment!" The girl in blue said.

Princess Zelda completely ignored her and looked at you and Link. "Please rise."

You and Link did as you were told. Zelda then looked at Dark. "Dark, I must ask you to please let her go."

You saw that Dark tensed up and hesitated. He obviously didn't want to let the girl go to ensure his safty.

"Dark..." you whispered, this got his attention. "Come here."

Dark looked over his shoulder to see you holding out your hand for him to take. Dark took a deep breath and sheathed his sword. Quickly, he went to your side and held your hand behind his back so no one could see.

The girl in blue huffed in annoyance before walking to the Princess's side.

"Please forgive her..." Zelda asked looking at the girl. "This is Lexa, one of my personal guards. Her job is to make sure no threats come into the castle."

Zelda eyed Dark.

"She must have thought you were a threat Dark Link" Zelda said directly to Dark. "I must say, it's been a long time I've seen you Dark Link. I like your new look."

Dark looked down at him self. He wasn't wearing his black tunic or black hat, he was still wearing his his baggy white shirt and baggy brown pants. Dark looked back up at Zelda, annoyance filled his eyes. He was having a hard time not sassing the princess.

"Princess Zelda..." Link began. "We must ask you for a favor."

Zelda gave Link a puzzled look. "A favor? And what would this favor be?"

"(Y/n)'s parents have been kidnapped by Ganondorf" Link explained. "We wish to find them, do you know where we should start?"

Zelda sighed. "I'm not sure what has happened exactly to (y/n)'s parents, but I do know where they have been taken."

Your eyes widened with joy. "Can you tell us!?"

Zelda giggled at your excitement. "Why of course. Ganondorf has been staying in a new dimension that I have no knowledge about. The only way to get into this other world is to collect the 5 Shards of Starlight."

"Zelda..." Lexa suddenly said. "You can't possibly make them look for the shards, even Link will probably die trying."

"You are right..." Zelda began. "That is why you are going with them."

"WHAT?!?!"

The Lexa girl clearly wasn't happy to hear this.

"But Your Highne-"

"Please Lexa" Zelda said raising her hand. "I hate arguments. Now I want you to take them to each place where the shards are."

Lexa groaned in annoyance and stomped over to Link's side. She clearly didn't want to be here right now.

You were super happy, you just wanted to start jumping up and down with happiness, but you knew you shouldn't act childish in front of the Princess. So instead, you squeezed Dark's hand.

Dark noticed this and looked down at you. He smiled a heart warming smile when he saw the huge grin that was on your face. You cheeks were red from trying to hold back your squeals.

Lexa led you and the two boys out of the castle. You went over to the stables where you and Dark picked out horses. When that was done, you rode into Hyrule field

This was the start of your new adventure.
