The Fete

Kevin's POV

A gun shot !!!!

Like a scene from a movie all were frozen in their spot. Curious eyes searched for the intruders like maybe a bank robbery was taking place or someone was getting kidnapped.

Panicked my good friend (note the sarcasm) Sidhel grabbed my hand and started squeezing it to death.

"Whoa!!! Bro chill what the hell is wrong with you? Seriously stop being so childish. You're a grown man, act like one."

He just groaned and clung to me like a child.

"What a bother!" I thought. I shouldn't have come here in the first place.

Sighing I turned around to look at all the commotion taking place and to my unsurprisingly it was just a dumb joke.

We are currently at the Central Park at a fete that was taking place I was really reluctant at first but Sid literally dragged me to this stupid fete.

I would never understand what goes on in this idiot's head.

Now back to the commotion taking place. In the middle of the park was a platform where a really burly looking man was standing. He was really tan and kinda well built. He seemed to be the type that all girls literally fall over.

"Hey Kevin looks like something interesting is happening. Why don't we join in the fun?" Sid started dragging me near to get a good look at what was going on.

I could see that the man was holding a toy gun which shot crackers instead of real bullets. "what an idiot" I thought.

"Look Kevin it was just a toy gun.hahahahah" Sid started laughing his ass off.

"Dumbass, who was the one squeezing my hand like his life depended on it?" Atleast now he had the audacity to look sheepish. I smirked.

Being new to this city I wasn't much about interacting with people. I was recently admitted to the 'Columbia University' I was fine being alone and I love my personal space so I never bothered talking to people or making friends but to my surprise this fun loving, outgoing person was the first one to approach me on my first day. It was kind of like a shock to me because given my nerdy and unapproachable appearance people usually tend to avoid me like a freak.

"We are going to be best friends.." were the first words he spoke to me. I tried avoiding him and pushed him away a lot of times. But being the persistent person he is, he never left me so here we are together right now stuck looking at some man making a fool of himself.

Not bothering to see what was going on I plugged in my Ipad and started listening to some music.

"Brooo.... You are missing the best part" Sid nudged me making me turn my face to the platform.

I could see a tall girl approaching that man. He was looking smug as if trying to say you got no choice anymore. She marched to him and was looking furious . She was a sun kissed tan girl but was now turning red probably with anger or embarrassment. Surprisingly I was captivated looking at her. That dress just fit perfectly showing off her curves I couldn't look away as if I was bewitched or something.

"NOW I'm curious" I mumbled.

"Did you say something Kev?"Sid said looking all curious.

"Nothing" I replied. " and stop with that nickname its Kevin not Kev ass.." he just smirked at me..

."Liana!.." that guy called out. "I was waiting for you" he was cut off when she swung her right hand high up in the air and slapped him. Everyone started to laugh at him. He was too damn embarrassed and pissed off. He tried to get hold of her wrist but then she swung it away and left.

"Liana huh?" I thought to myself . It seemed a pretty common name but what was it that made me look twice towards that fiery beauty? I thought to myself.

"This is what happens when you try to show off too much" Sid murmured. I gave him a smirk and said "Now can we leave..?"
" Sure "he replied. I was hungry by then and my stomach started growling.

"Sid get us some food, will ya ?" I asked. He was giving me the 'am I your servant?' look.

"This is payback for bringing me here today" I smirked knowing I won this one.

"Fineee!!!" he groaned and left.

Waiting for him was boring so I started looking around if something catches my eyes.I went towards a book stall thinking if they had some books. After few minutes I ended up buying some classics and some music related books.

Atleast it was worth something coming here. I thought.

By then Sid was still not back so I decided to call him but unsurprisingly he had texted me that he met one of his "girlfriends" who wanted to hang out so he left.

Cursing I went on ahead desperate to get home and be done for the day. So much for eating..i was still cursing Sid for ditching me to go get laid somewhere.

I started walking down the road and pulled my hoddie up. I had a habit of putting only one earplug when walking outside. As I was looking down to adjust it, suddenly a car came barreling down the road and hit by my side making me fall down and dropping my books along with my specs.

"The hell was that? I f*cking nearly got killed!!!!!! "I groaned in pain. I could see the car door open and out came the same girl who was there in the platform an hour ago.
Liana! I thought.
Before I could speak she yelled at me snapping me out of my thoughts. "You dumbhead!!! Don't you know how to walk on a road.. didn't you realize a car was approaching near you?" she rolled her eyes. I could really see all the frustration and irritation flowing out of her.
Before I could defend myself she started again "Oh yes! How will you even hear when you have stuffed your ears with those stupid earplugs.??!!"
I was shocked and surprisingly I was not pissed at all in fact I was amused seeing her yelling at me though it wasn't my fault at all.

"I am sorry" were the only words that came out of my mouth as I stood up and started gathering my stuffs, looking for my specs.

Then I heard a crack sound and turned to find my specs lying under her foot.

"Now she has really done it" I thought. Even though it was amusing seeing her all frustrated but now it was my turn to be annoyed.

"I'm so sorry I didn't know. I didn't intend to break it!!! " she said in a guilty tone. As she held it up I could see that they were in the worst condition.

"Whatever just back off!! "I snapped at her with a glare and grabbed my books and started to walk away without another word. When I went a few steps away I stopped feeling someone's hand on my shoulder and I somehow knew who was the one. I didn't bother looking back and walked further but suddenly she came in front of me and blocked my way. I glared at her silently telling her to not piss me off but being as stubborn as a rock she just stood in my way not ready to back down just yet.

Those grey depths of her eyes were truly mesmerizing I couldn't help but be captivated by them. It was something about those big grey eyes that were so intriguing and left the other person feel naked. Nowhere to hide from your own demons. 

A moment passed with both of us staring each other down,none ready to back off yet, when I suddenly felt the urge to grab her and kiss the hell outta her.   With a gush of wind I came back to reality and realized how stupid I was thinking I could kiss some random girl just because I was attracted to her for once.

Without saying a word I grabbed her hair and pinned it in her ear. She was momentarily shocked and I took this opportunity to quietly slip away aware of those daunting grey eyes boring through me  thinking that this was probably the last I would see of her...

If only that was so true!!!

A/N: So my lovely readers the first chapter is up.

I have made some major changes and tried to make it a better version of the old one so I hope you all will read the new version and give me some of your opinions.
