~Felix's Point of View

When the door to the infirmary shuts, my body shakes violently and I face Caden. He hurt her. My mate. My wolf is at the brink of letting loose and I honestly don't care for the damages he'd cause. As long as Caden feels her pain. My fists grab a hold of his shirt, fisting it in my hands and pulling his face so that it's a mere inch away. He doesn't stop me, just glares at me. This makes me even more furious. "You better stay the hell away from her." My voice is menacing towards him. This gets to him. He pushes my chest with force having me back away.
"Have you forgotten? I am not leaving her. Never again." A growl escapes my throat and my claws star to extend. At this he growls back and his back hunches over. We come face to face again, glaring, but neither of us touch the other.
"She is mine."
"Correction. Mine."

Just as I'm about to launch myself at him, my father's voice echoes through the mind link. 'I don't recommend doing that. Now. Come to my office and bring your brother.' I snarl and turn away walking between the people in the crowd that had formed around us. "Follow me." I yell over my shoulder, not turning fully to face him. The soft crunch of the grass beneath his feet let me know he's doing as told.

The door to the office opens just as we arrive. Inside, my father sits behind his desk. His hands intertwined on the table. He nods at me and then faces Caden, taking in his appearance. "Hello, son."
"Gail." His eyes remain trained on my fathers. Not flinching.
"Well, it's nice to see you after all this time." Caden scoffs.
"Cut the crap. What do you want from me?" Father tilts his head to the side examining Caden.
"You really have changed."
"What do you think? Of course I'm different. I'm not the spoiled egotistic ass that I would have been if I lived here." He turns his head, aiming his eyes at me. I snarl and take a step forward. Fists, hot and ready at my sides.
"Enough." I glare at my father. What is he thinking?!
"Dad! He has no right to be here."
"I have every right! She," he points at the direction we had come from, "is my mate, too."
"Felix. Leave." I open my mouth to retaliate but he beats me to it. "Now."

A grunt leaves my mouth as I saunter out, not before bumping my shoulder into Caden's. That mutt cannot be my brother. We don't even look alike! My fists clench and unclench in an attempt to release stress and anger. I walk aimlessly around the palace, replaying him lip-locking with my mate. My feet stomp against the floor with force, taking me wherever they lead.

I end up at the balcony in my room. Leaning forward against it, my mind races. I close my eyes, looking up and absorbing the sun's heat. If only Lane could understand how much I care for her. She means the world to me whether she wants to believe it or not. With all honesty, I don't know what I'd do if she wasn't there. At the Mate Choosing Ceremony. The moment I laid eyes on her, I knew. I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I was able to imagine a life with her. She wearing my mark, proud, and I baring hers. At the yearly carnival in the city near here. And one day, having her give birth to my pups. Our pups.

To her I'm a possessive jerk. A selfish, spoiled brat that wants her as possibly another toy. From her body language, I can tell somethings off. When I had told her this morning about making her mine, she stiffened. She just nodded to my news, No excitement was plastered on her face. She looked petrified. I had purposely left because her reaction, more or less no reaction to the matter had made me mad. Is she ever going to get past the fact that we are mated?!

Though I can't blame her. I may not understand her point of view for she has two mates, but I can try and influence her. All I want in this world at the moment, is her acceptance. And her of course, but I can't have her if she doesn't want me the same way.

~Caden's Point of View
The moment Felix slams the door, a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. No matter how much I despised the way he is, he's still my brother. The only people I truly hate would be my father. He's the reason I left this hell hole. He had given Felix all of the attention, all the power. I can vividly remember the times where he had locked me in my room for a whole day at a time, starving me and having my mother believe that I was upset about something. Each time that I'd go to my mother and try to explain, she'd brush me off, although she did do by comforting me and not look into it. And the cycle started again. I don't blame her either. How can I? My devil of a father has her wrapped around his finger. He's who I detest. Loathe. Abhor.

My father walks nonchalantly over to the small bar to the side of his office, as if he was the innocent person in all of this. He takes out a glass and pours himself a glass of Jack on the Rocks. He turns around and takes a sip, eyes trained on me. "Son-"
"I am not your son." He ignores me and goes on.
"I'd like you to come back home." A throaty chuckle escapes my lips.
"Oh how so? You expect me to walk in here with open arms? Gladly. In one condition. You. Leave." He slams his cup on the desk, some of the drink spilling onto the sleek mahogany.
"I don't accept this kind of behavior from you!"
"You lost the right to have my respect the day you locked me in that room! When YOU had given Felix all the attention instead! You had me believe that I wasn't good enough for two years! It was only when I left that I realized, it wasn't me who wasn't good enough. It was you."
"All I wanted to do was help you. Everything I did was for your benefit."
"So making me starve was your way of caring for me?" He stays silent. "Thought so." He take a few steps forward and places his hands on my shoulders.
"That's why I want you to come home. To make it up to you. I know my ways of showing affection was... not amiable. But I'd like to make it up." I shrug his hands off.
"You can't undo your deeds. What happened, happened. I won't forget that."

I turn on the balls of my feet and walk out the door. Not replying to the yell of my name coming from the direction behind me.

I explored the familiarity of the ground I used to call home, then made my way to check on Lane. On the way, I had collided with a woman shorter than me by a foot when rounding a corner. Before she could fall, I grabbed onto her arms and pulled her into me. Her hands had reached out and gripped at my shoulders, finding her balance. "Sorry." She keeps her head down, voice soft. I've never seen her before. She lets go and tries to move around me, but I block her.
"Who are you?" Her dark brown hair is pushed behind her ears as she looks up at me.
"I'm trying to find my sister." The minute her face is in view, I know who it is. The many long trips with Silos has paid off. Her high cheekbones, button nose, and chin resembles Lane. Her deep gray eyes mimic Silos'. The sides of my lips tilt upwards.
"Riley."
"How do you know me?" She takes a step back, and a drop of sweat rolls down the side of her face.
"Let's just say that I'm a friend of your brother's. Oh and also your sister's mate." Her brows furrow. "The other one."
"She has..."
"Yes. We can talk later about this, but you said you were looking for your sister? I was just going to check on her. I'd gladly take you there."
"Check on her?"
"She was, err, injured." My hand ruffles the hair at the back of my head.
"Oh my god, Lane."
"As I said earlier I'd gladly take you there."
"No. It's fine. I know where I'm going, thanks." She walks around my figure, in the direction she was previously going.
"Apparently not." She stops. "The way to her would be this way." She turns around, midsentence, and I use my thumb to point behind me. She clears her throat.
"I knew that." She walks to the direction I pointed at and takes a left at the T intersection.
"Riley... " She comes back down the hall she turned into and goes down the other direction.
"You coming?!"
