LIAM’S POV

The rest of the day I couldn’t help but wonder who that song was about. I really wanted to ask her but I couldn’t get her alone long enough to do so. One of the boys was always hovering around her. It was usually Niall. Victoria and Niall have been hanging out a lot lately and it’s starting to annoy me. I mean come on, I’m her cousin not him. They have been inseparable since she got here.

I like spending time with Vicki again. I really miss having my little cousin around. We used to hang out all the time when she was younger, having little tea parties and such. I suppose it’s time to admit why I wanted her back so bad. You see, when Vicki was 4 she was kidnapped. The whole family was devastated, especially her mum, my aunt Eden who is my mum’s sister.

She was taken when her mum and dad got in a car accident when she was in the car. Uncle Jim unfortunately didn’t survive the crash, but Aunt Eden did, she even saw the woman take Vicki from the back seat. This happened over in Ireland on a visit to Uncle Jim’s family, he’s Irish. Since Victoria was so young when this occurred, I don’t think she even remembers what happened.

My Aunt and Uncle were married so Vicki took Uncle Jim’s last name, Gilmore. That is probably the reason Victoria’s “mum” let her come here. Because this is England not Ireland, and my last name is Payne not Gilmore. I need to find some way to tell Victoria the truth, but I don’t have a clue as to how.

I just need to focus on one thing at a time. First I need to know who this song is about. I trudged upstairs and was about to knock on Victoria’s room when I heard voices coming from inside.

“I know we need to tell him but, I don’t know what his reaction will be. He will most likely hate me and tell me to book a plane back home.” Victoria’s fragile voice rang out.

“Well we need to tell him sometime, and I think now would be the time. Yeah it’s fun sneaking around, but I would rather not have another close encounter like the one we had with Louis in the kitchen.” I heard an Irish accent say. Definitely Niall.

“Okay, I get where you’re coming from. Why don’t we go tell him now yeah?” she replied to him. Then there was a silence. I rushed over to my room, shut the door and jumped on my bed in record time. I picked up a book and pretended to read it just as a knock came at my door.

“Come in.” I called to Niall and Vicki even though they didn’t know I knew it was them.

“Hey Liam,” my cousin asked, “can we talk to you for a minute?” she seemed really nervous but I nodded for the two of them to come sit on my bed.

“What’s up guys?”

“Yea, there is something we need to talk to you about.” Niall told me.

“Go on, what is it?” I urged them.

“Well, Niall and I are sort of… dating.” I froze, HE is the one she’s dating?

“Um, wow, didn’t see that one coming.” I scratched the back of my head awkwardly as Niall locked his and Victoria’s fingers together.

“I hope it’s not too weird. You know your best mate and your little cousin going out and all.” Niall replied to my awkwardness.

“No, no, it’s fine, I just never suspected you to be the guy she was talking about in her song.”

“Liam!” Victoria shouted.

“Sorry, sorry. But come on Vic, who else could be the person I don’t know about, you stay up all night with and want to tell the world, meaning me, about?”

“That’s true.” She said looking at the ground.

“Well I must be off, got to practice my guitar and all.” Niall told us in a rush as he pecked Vicki’s cheek and ran out the door.
