The Lost One

"JULIA?!" Someone shouts from downstairs. It's guy's voice, I note. So, quickly I run towards my bathroom just as someone is running through the door to my room. I scream fiddling with the lock trying to get it to cooperate. Letting out a cuss word I give up and run to the window in my bathroom. Trying to open it someone as someone's coming through the door and just as I finally got the window to open they grab my arm.

I squeeze my eyes,  "Please don't hurt me." I whisper.

"Why would I do that?" Ethan ask curiously.

"Oh my gosh!" I exclaim in a big relief. I get on my tip toes and squeeze him in a really tight hug.

"You want to tell me what this was about?" He asks concerned.

He hugs me tighter. "No." I answer. "Not yet."

I hear a car alarm. "What is that?" I question curiously, letting go of the hug and running downstairs.

Ethan follows me outside, we both go out to his car and see that someone had keyed it. And not just anyone, Jarred. I knew this would happen. This isn't good.

I let out another cuss word and throw my hands up on my head, tugging on my hair.

He looks at his car, then over to me one eyebrow arched up. He is so cute.

"What?" He asks.

Wait, what?

"Do you know who did this?" He question.

I let my hands down and sigh in defeat.

"Well..?"

"Well, that guy you met at the party... His name is Jarred. And he um..." I turn my face away as a tear slides down my cheek. His hands grab my face and turn it towards him. Looking into his eyes I tell him, "he abuses me, any bruise , scar or blood you see on me.. That's him. He's been doing it for years. He didn't always used to be like this though. He used to have a life, and actually love me. Now I'm just his toy that entertains him." I state in annoyance and sadness. "This is the part of me that's really messed up and hell, I didn't want you to see me this way. For once I just want to be a normal pretty girl instead of the "abused girl"." I explain to him my voice cracking.

He nods his head. "You're not just "the abused girl" to me. You're much more. You're amazing and beautiful and strong for going through all this alone." He states his eyes turning into some kind of sadness, "now you're not going to be alone, I will ALWAYS, be around to help you or save you." He smiles. Then frowns and looks away as his warm hands leaving my face, "Except, he still abuses you doesn't he?" He asks anger and annoyance laced through his voice, thick and heavy.

I just nod.

He turns toward me and smiles. A weak smile nonetheless. "Do you want to get some McDonald's?"

"Er, I'm more of a Burger King person..." I state shyly twisting my fingers into knots.

"Not a problem, I like a girl who states her opinion." He says happily.

"After you my lady," he states opening the keyed passenger door for me. I smile.

"Wait!" I run into the house, up the stairs down the hall into my room and find some skinny jeans, a flannel, some socks and some black nike's I grab my phone and run out the door. Then I hopped into the passengers seat.

I see him chuckle out of the corner of my eye.

He walks around the car and onto the seat and shuts the door then roars the engine to life. "You're cute you know that?" He pinches my cheek.

"Hey! Don't touch the merchandise! Until you're going to kiss me it's off limits. And hey, if you go out in public you gotta look good." I state sassily.

He looks over at me and leans over grabs my face and kisses me. It's slow, and beautiful. Like a scene a camera can't quite capture.

Of course I kissed him back. When I run out of breath I pull back.

"Wow" I pant. "That was..." Ethan starts.

"Wow" I state again.

He chuckles. "So cute." Then he shifts into drive and starts down the road.

Hey guys. This was a really short chapter. I'm really busy with school and stuff as always. I just want to clarify that I got a few messages from people saying that I'm "a famous person" well, I'm not, you must be confused. I'm just a normal person. Just to clear things up. I hope to be updating a lot lately <3 I'm super excited about this book and a new book I'm coming out with soon I have big plans <3333
