Chapter One - [I'm Back to Put the Sunshine in Your Mind]

Ashlyn's POV

     It's the beginning of April and I'm way past ready for it to be summer already. No school, no homework, no drama, and the closest it gets for me to graduate!

   I'm sitting in my last period waiting for this class to be over with; Government always seemed to drag on and on. As soon as the bell rang, I ran to my locker, were I found Nate waiting for me.

"Hey Ash." He said as leaned down to kiss me on the cheek. "We still on tonight?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't we be?" I asked. He was taking me to see Green Lantern.

    He nodded and headed outside to his car. I got my books I needed for the night and head out to mine. I started the car and immediately turned on the radio only to hear "On My Mind" to be playing. I smiled; being proud that that was my best friend I was listening to on the radio. He's worked so hard to get to where he's at, I'm happy that he's living his dream.

   I pulled into my driveway to see a car that I was not familiar with, and I heard my phone beep. I had a text from my mom, "Hurry home." it said. I laughed and started walking to my front door.

"I'm hom-" I said as I walked into my living room, only to stop mid sentence with, "CODY!"  I dropped my backpack, and wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his around my waist. "What are you doing here?!" I asked.

"We're here on vacation." He said in that adorable Australian accent.

"We?" He pointed to his family; Angie, Brad, Allie and Little Tom. They each came up and gave me a hug. His mom was last.

"You've grown up so much since last time I saw you. Your such a beautiful girl." She said, knowing about my insecurities. I was really close with her, so I replied with a 'Thank you so much' and a smile.

"I'd have to agree with my mom." Cody whispered . He knew everything about me. He knew how self-conscious I was about my body.

"Thanks, Cody." He smiled.

"So we're all going out to dinner tonight to welcome them back here to LA." My mom said. "I know you had plans tonight Ash bu-"

"I'll cancel them. I'm sure it'll be fine; my friends come first." They do, especially when I don't get to see them that much.

      We all hung out; adults in the living room and us young-ens (Don't mind my country talk, I moved to LA from Tennessee) in the media room. Me and Cody were sitting on the couch while we were watching The Hangover. I texted Nat, "Hey babe, sorry but I can't make it tonight. Cody just came in town and our family is going out to dinner. I'm sorry, I hope you understand." He texted back a little bit later saying he understood and not worry about it. After that it was about ten till five so we got up and got ready to go to dinner. I went up to my room, changed into one of my favorite dresses (http://media.photobucket.com/image/dresses/miss_romantic22/Dresses/13.jpg?o=39), and a pair of cute heals, and then I went back down stairs.

"Hey Cody, Im almost as tall as you are!" I said laughing.

"Yeah, almost." He put his arm on my head like a little arm rest, teasing me, and I stuck my tounge out at him.

"Lets go." Mom said.  We all walked out the door and headed out to dinner.
