Chapter 5
Keziah's POV
the week went well and went very fast, its already friday, and the dance is just hours away. Its 10am, and the dance is at 6, we don't have
Classes because the party comittee wanted us to prepare for the event.
Jessa and her friends, Lyza, Madie and Zia are coming over any minute now, they are even more excited than me.
"Kei!" Madie squeeled as she came busting into my room followed by the rest of the gang.
"Hey guys, you're.... Early." i greeted
"early? My dear we ain't early. We'll be preparing for your first dance and that guy you like would be your date we are gonna transform you! Prettier, cause you are already pretty." Zia explained and the other girls agreed to her
"yep, that is 100% right!" Jessa exclaimed, getting comfortable on my pink sofa with her friends
"ok, well what do I do?" i asked
"Ok, so we'll eat lunch first then you'll take a long hot bath, then we start woth the hair and the nails, then the make up. All good?" Lyza instructed
"ok," then we all went to the dining area to eat
"ugh! Sit still Keziah! I'm almost done." Jessa commanded, still doing my hair
"Almost done? Jes, you've been working on my hair for hours!" i complained
"huh, actually princess, if you just stay still, Jes will be done an hour ago already" Lyza laughed, giving Jess more clips, and the other girls went laughing
"ugh! How come Madie is already done with my nails while Jessa is still ain't?" I muttered
"ok, give me that thing there" jes told Lyza,
Lyza handed her a shiny thing and she put it on my hair
"done! " she announced proudly
"perfect!" Zia exclaimed walking toward me and grabbing a wet facial tissue and wiped it on my face
"be still, this won't take long" she instructed
"ugh! Can't I rest for a while? I've been sitting here for hours!" i whined
"u-uh! Jes! It's 4:00! We need to double time! You should be ready by 5:00!" Zia explained then continued working on my face..
After 30 minutes she's done and they asked me to change into my dress and I did,
When I came out of my walk-in closet wearing my dress, they all stopped whatever they were doing and gasped.
"what?" i asked worried, Lyza gave me my stillettos and I wore them
"look," Jessa turned me around facing the mirror, and that is when I gasped as well,
"oh my gosh! I look....."
"Beautiful, cause you really are" Jessa continued and smiled
"yep, you really are pretty Kei, it's natural." Lyza smiled and the other girls nodded
"thank you girls," and I hugged them all
"you're welcome Kei," Zia told me
"we'll always be here for you" Madie smiled then i nodded
"okay, so we are just going to wait for his call" Jess teased
"what's his name again?" Zia asked
"ugh.." i made a face at them
"it's Aiden!" Jessa laughed and so did everyone else.
We were teasing each other when my phone rang, "Aiden" I told them before answering the phone, they were all smiling and giggling
"hey," i answered "yep I'm ready... Oh.. Nope,.... yeah.. Uhuh..... No, it's ok,... Yeah, i'm sure..... Don't worry I'll be fine..... I understand... Uhuh... Sure... Bye"
"what did he say?" Madie asked worried
"uhm, there's been some changes" i told them
"changes?" Lyza asked an i nodded
"what is it Kei? What did he say?" Jessa asked impatiently
"he isn't coming" i began, I tried my best not to cry because of the make up
"what do you mean he isn't coming?" Jess asked again
"he isn't picking me up, he isn't gonna ba my date, he is going with his ex girlfriend" i cried
"WHAT?! Are you sure?" jess panicked, i nodded, Lyza, Madie and Zia still comforting me
"he's a jerk, he is letting someone like you go. I believe you're better than his ex girlfriend" Madie said
"yes, Keziah is way better than that whore!" jessa said angrily
"kei, you are still coming to that dance!" Zia told me
"yes, you shouldn't let him know you ate affected" Lyza added
"what? Looking like this?" i asked
"Looking like what?" they all said at the same time
"this!" then i checked myself at the mirror, surprised that my makeup wasn't smudged or anything, I didn't look like I cried. I looked at them, they smiled
"honey, it's water proof!" they laughed
"now, we are driving you to the dance!" Maddie announced excitedly
"o-ok.." i replied
"come on!" they pulled me to the car and began instructing me of dos and donts in the party, i think its been hours because of so many instructions, then the car came to a full stop,
"ok, we're here." Maddie announced "just remember, you're perfect. You don't deserve a jerk. Many guys will want to be with you with your looks"
"thanks" i smiled, and went out the car, for the first time, many people noticed me
"hey," Gavyn, a senior and football quarterback smiled
"hi," i smiled back
"where's your date?" he asked
"uhm, I don't have one," i told him, still smiling
"seriously?" he asked, shocked
"uhuh, actually, my supposedly date stood me up for someone else" i told him still keeping my smile
"that's too bad, anyway, is it too late to ask if you could be my date?" he asked
"no, not at all," i laughed
"good, well, Keziah, could you be my date for the night?" he asked
"sure!" i answered,
"that's great! Now, shall we?" he asked and I took his arm, but stopped
"wait, you ain't got any date?" i asked, curious
"uh, something like that." he laughed, "my date also stood me up, just like yours"
"really?"
"yep, well, wanna go in the party or just stay here and talk?" he teased
"okay mister, let's go" i laughed
We went inside and all eyes were on us.........
