I was down in the mines for six months, but it felt like a century. I missed my fifth birthday, down in the mines you can barley tell which way is up, let alone what day it is.
I cried myself to sleep every night for a month, but after that I was out like a light. I had dreams, vivid dreams of my family. Some was them panicking and looking for me, others was them forgetting I even existed.
It crossed my mind a month after I ended up here whether they even knew where I was. They were all witches and wizards so maybe they were serving in a different mine. I hope they weren't.
Although the conditions were hot and muggy and if you looked up something always ended up in your eye, the confusions weren't horrible. We had soft mats thy other witches created for me to sleep on. They had bandaged my arm but I couldn't really move it or cast spells. So while everyone else cast spells to push away the rock to find water, I sat on the side and watched. They kept me trapped down here because the doctors said I had huge amounts of magical energy, so when I was all fixed up I could work like five, maybe six men.
"I wanna go home!" I would scream everyday at the guards a they walked by me until my throat ave out and I could barely make a squeak. Then I would cry and curl up on the floor and listen to the sounds of exploding rocks.
"Sit up!" They would always yell at me. "You are doing this for your kingdom!"
"I don't even live here!" I would lie. When I got out I would find my mom and we would leave, go right back to the Shadow Planet.
And never return.
Until I was strong enough to take over an free every last soul from the mines.
Those thoughts of revenge and my family kept me sane until the day I was set free.
"Let me go!" I scream. A guard looks at me and laughs.
"Calm down kid. As soon as we find water you'll be home."
"No. I want to go home now. I'm not doing anything."
"When that arm is fixed then you will do something."
"And then can I go home?"
"I thought you said you were from an orphanage." The guard leans against the wall that I was sitting under.
"I am." I lie. I told them I was from an orphanage so they wouldn't go looking for my family.
So I could protect them.
"So what home do you have?"
"I. Want. To. Go. Home." I state. The guard looks at me.
"Do you?"
"Take. Me. home." I demand. "Let me go home right now!"
Something snapped within him. "Ok."
"Good." I was shocked. These guards were such a pushover. I walked out of the mines, each guard not even trying to stop a little five year old with dragging bat wings from leaving.
I climb up the ladder, breathing heavily as it was about a mile up. I didn't take any breaks, I just kept climbing up, more towards the surface of Mewni. With only one arm, it was hard but I could do it.
I had to do it.
I had to see my family again.
As I near the top, my ears pop and I can feel my head spinning from the light air. I fall onto the field and stare down the hole.
"I should have helped them. Every one else." I mutter to myself. My voice was so weak now and the sun was so bright, I took deep breaths. With all my might and as loud as I can, I scream down into the mines.
"LET EVERYONE GO!" I hear my voice echo off the walls but my greatest fear can true. My voice didn't reach anyone's ears. I begin to walk through the field and he's towards the kingdom. I didn't make much friends, since I was the youngest. Some adults were kind but most of them lost that spirit towards the end. I drag my legs through the field until I reach the lower ring of Mewni. I fall onto my knees, my head spinning and exhaustion covering over me. I was close, but I hold barely move. My wings laid limp at my sides and I crawl with my one arm, my last working appendage. My legs so scraped and my feet were so bruised. I find my house and lie down at the doorstep of the shack. With my last strength, I scream.
"Moma!" I scream, my voice get progressively fainter, "End. Fang. Mage. Marvel. Help."
"RED!" Someone screams. I feel someone pick me up and I see Fang's soft black and white hair in my face.
"Red! Oh my gosh Red!" I'm lauded on the couch as everyone comes over and hugs me. They give me blankets and foods and Mage heals my cuts, crying.
"How..." My voice is weak.
"Red!" Moma runs over and showers me in hugs an kisses. "Were have you been?"
"How could you?" I say weakly. She sits up and tears spring from my eyes.
"Red..." End sighs.
"I was down there. For months. Wondering when... When you would come and rescue me. Those mines... I was away for so long. HOW COULD YOU!?" Waterfalls fly from my eyes and I dare angrily at my family. They all looked so much older. How could they? How could they do that to me!?
"A girl in your class stopped by," Marvel sighs. "She told is what happened. We searched twenty-seven mines, but the twenty-eighth we couldn't find. We searched from the air, asked anyone. Sold our dimensional knives to find you."
I stare at them.
"I was arrested." Fang sighs. "Because I got into a fight with a guard."
"I quit school." Mage strikes my head, tears of joy falling from her eyes. "So I could focus full time on finding you."
"I went and roughed up ever bartender just so they would talk." End smiles proudly.
"Red..." My mom smiles. "I... I'm so happy your home."
She hugs me.
I smile.
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be." My mom whispers. "Nothing will ever happen to you again. I promise."EH? I THINK THAT WAS A PRETTY GOOD CHAPTER. MY OPINION, OF COURSE BUT WHAT THE HAY! I LIKED IT!!
