Phone Conversation between, Holden and Jamie. Following Friday.
Holden picks up: Hello?
Jamie: Hi.
Holden: How’s your dad? Is he treating you okay?
Jamie: You care now? After you made a move onto Texas?
Holden: (laughing) what are you on about, J? I haven’t made a move on anyone. Especially Texas.
Jamie: Really? (Pause) So what’s this I hear about you’re going to her house tonight? You know the—
Holden: Seriously? Even when you’re not here, you still find your way to listen to rumours.
Jamie: (slight anger) and what’s that supposed to mean, huh? (Scoffs)
Holden: It means that you should have asked me first, before you started accusing me of moving onto your Ex. First off, she’s your Ex; you declared you were over her—not like I’d do that anyway. But come on, I’m your best mate, don’t you think I would have told you I was interested in your Ex? It’s not even like that; we’re working together for Science, that’s it.
Jamie: (slight pause, can hear his breathing) I didn’t mean it like that. It’s just, my dad—
Holden: I get it, don’t worry. You okay, though yeah?
Jamie: I’m fine. I have to go; dad wants to take me somewhere. (Speaking softly) He’s really trying, you know
Holden: That’s good. See you then.
Jamie: Bye.
Holden hangs up, tapping his phone against his chin with a smile on his face.
