Few years flew.... Arika had grown very beautiful. Time passed and everything changed, but one thing remained same....the princess going to the lake everyday to see the fishes. Her bond with them had grown with each passing day.
It was Arika's eighteenth birthday. The king and queen had planned to throw a grand celebration in the castle. Arika was very happy and wanted that the Kingdom's people shall also be invited to attend the party. Arika couldn't wait to share her joy with her fishes. Her mother, the queen, let her go to meet the fishes in one condition, that she will not be late and come on time to attend the celebration. Arika agreed and went quickly to the lake. She sat at her usual spot, on the huge rock aside the lake. With her innocent eyes, she looked at the small fishes and began taking. She told them that she wished, that she knew people's inner wish and help make them fulfil.
The sun had just set over the mountains and the sky was clear and looking beautiful in the orange colour. Arika just remembered her promise to her mother and got up to leave.
Suddenly, something caught the princess's attention. There formed a huge ripple at the centre of the lake. Then a bright light flashed and then the sight stunned the princess. Floating upright on the water surface was a mermaid!!!
