Autumn

It had been a few weeks and to my demise, Mikey was still going pretty steady with Jade. He's kept on asking about that Monday night... and yes, that Monday night. That night I regret with every bone in my body, when I said I would actually tell him why I was upset and I still have yet to answer that foreboding questions wandering the premises of my mind.

The boys are still drafting ideas for their third album and as of currently, not letting me in on any details... how sad.

And as for my song, I'm slowly and steadily losing inspiration to continue on with the whole writing process.

So yeah, things definitely could be better than what my nonexistent god has planned out for me.

"Autumn?" The sudden knocks on my bedroom door frighten me.

"Yeah?" I slightly shout back towards Mikey's soft voice, somewhat muffled from him standing on the other side o my door.

"I'm heading out-"

With Jade *sigh*

"-for an hour or so. I'll text you when I'm on my way home."

"Kay." I reply breathily. "Wait a second!"

"What?!" He shouts, opening the door leading into the garage.

"Could you maybe, please, pick me up a little something for breakfast?" I gaze over at my alarm clock to see that it's only quarter to eight.

"...Donuts sound good?"

"Always! Thank you!" I drag out the end of 'you' before rolling over in my bed and hoping to get more sleep than I did last night

-

"Autumn!" Mikey's voice echoes through the front hallway, waking me up almost immediately. "Donuts!"

I quickly get out of bed, bounding down the hallway and into the kitchen, seeing the box filled with edible heaven.

"Thank you." My already filled mouth mumbles, taking a seat across from Mikey at the wooden kitchen table. "So where'd you go?"

I mean, of course I knew where he went, for for fact checking reasons...

"Jade wanted to grab breakfast."

And of course my suspicions were correct.

"She wants to meet you." He says casually, tearing a donut in half as small chunks of my own donut fall out of my mouth and onto the table.

"I-I'm sorry. Could you repeat that? I thought I heard you say-"

"-she wants to meet-"

"-me."

"-you." We speak in unison.

"Why?" I ask with plain, straightforward confusion masking my voice.

"Okay so I may or may not have mentioned your name in conversation." A petite smile tugs at the corners of his mouth.

"Hang on for a second, hold on. What kind of shit were you telling her about me?" A small bubble of giggles escapes through the crease in between my lips.

"No,no,no, no," He laughs, leaning against the back of his chair. "We weren't talking shit about you, promise." He leans towards me again, resting his arms on the table and proposing a pinkie finger promise with the gesture he makes with his hand.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll accept your little kid promise." I wrap my smallest finger around his own, shaking on it.

A wave of silence falls on our conversation and I observe Mikey's eyes looking around the room, then back at me. Almost as if he's looking for some idea to grasp at, simply something to talk about. And then I finally realize what thoughts he's trying to put into words. The one thing he wants to discuss with me that I would pass on in a heartbeat.

He takes a deep breath, his mouth poised as he speaks his first word of the sentence, "So about that night."

I apologize for the shorter chapter but I really just wanted to get something out there for you guys since you all have been so patient with me I swear I'm blessed:'D
