Chapter 4

*Two Weeks Later*
-Elite Gold Practice-

Brianna's POV-
I was mounted on Pumpkin as we stood in the center of the ring while I called out the training assignments for the day. The smell of sawdust and sweat mixed with the scent of horsehair permeated the air. "Alex and Christina will go together to the outdoor jumping ring while I work with Evan on his dressage technique, Maci you will go with Coach Baker for a private." I smiled while winking sarcastically at Maci who looked infuriated at me. She snatched the reins of her horse, Stormcrow while trotting towards the private practice arena. Once she was gone and Lexi and Christina had dispersed I turned Pumpkin towards Evan's mount,Luna, and his gaze met my eyes. "Why did you really want me with you?" Evan questioned moving Luna closer to me. "Because your dressage is sloppy and needs work." I teased sweetly I moved Pumpkin to the side. "Wow." He says in mock shock as he trots to the center of the ring and salutes me jokingly. "Ok canter to A, trot to C, and canter to F." (AN: this is a complety made up dressage routine) I called out," But this is to basic." Evan whined playfully completing each move. " Your out of practice." I teased again as he came behind me and reached a hand out to tickle me. Laughing I cantered away from him into the outdoor arena where Alex and Christina were practicing. "Time for a group go through with Coach Baker." I said while reaching up to adjust my helmet.
*Back in Dorms*
Brianna's POV-
"Ugh!" I groaned as I flopped onto my bed. "Whats with you?" Lexi asked as she poked her head through the doorway. ". I pointed a finger towards my stack of thick textbooks and binders overflowing with papers. "School got me like what..." Again I groaned in annoyance pushing a stray lock of blond hair from my face. "Im trying to get it all done before the competition on Saturday." I stated pointdly at Lexi who was perched on my desk finguring a stack of DVD's. "Oh shit! Thats this weekend!" Lexi said as her face paled while looking at me like a deer caught in the headlights. "Whats wrong bout that?" I asked more carefully. She rolled up the leg of her pants and showed me. A slim,black knee brace covered her left knee causing me to shudder in agony. "Dont worry I can still ride ... but comps still make me nervous." Lexi says while anxiously biting her lip. "Well luckily Coach Baker entered you in only one event:showjumping unless you would rather take dressage?" I asked honestly. "Of Course Ill do show jumping." Lexi said somewhat enthusiasticslly. "Right, OK.... And now back to regularly scheduled biology h.w" I mocked jokingly as I flipped open my textbook with a thud. "Haha right" Lexi smirked while waltzing out of my room.
