Brianna's POV-
After a long agonizing week of schoolwork and riding practices finally it was the dawn of competition. It was still dark outside with only the single streetlamps casting their golden glow on the cobblestone path. The alarm on my Iphone pinged the glowing numbers reading 3:30 a.m . Groaning I pushed my covers off and got out of bed and to Lexi's room. "Hey Lex, Time to wake up." I whispered knocking on her door. She shuffled to the door and opened revealing her messy unbrushed hair, sweat pants, and a tshirt. "Yeah Yeah I know what I look like give me 5 and Ill be out." she joked closing the door behind her. Turning back to my room I put on my black leggings, and my Nike crop top while throwing on my Briarwood Team Jacket and slipping on my Uggs. After a light coat of make up, I grabbed my Vera Bradley duffel which held all my show clothes and riding boots and then grabbed my North Face Backpack which held my travel stuff. Satisfied I met with Lexi and we headed off to the stables.
Traveling across campus in the dark was spooky enough with it being deserted and all which made me turn on my phone light. " Its creepy isnt it" A voice said from behind us making us jump. I let out a breath when I realized that it was just Christina who had a backpack and a gym bag with her. Peering more closely in the dim light she had on Neon green Nike cheer shorts and a Nike crop top with running shoes on and her hair was pulled back in a high ponytail. Her riding jacket was slung over her arm she grinned at us. " You two were scared." she giggled. " Um yeah... a little." I said as we reached a busy stable yard. Five long horse trailers were waiting and lined up along with a big charter bus already lit up and waiting. "Lets go." Lex squealed excitedly as we walked into the stables.Chaos. Utter chaos. The inside of the stable was covered with each of my teammates rushing around. Horses were being groomed and the scent of apple coat conditioner wafted through the air as Marcia raced about her arms full of traveling wraps and bell boots. Evan was going over Ginger with a curry come as the horse was already blanketed and wrapped. The three of us parted to our seperate stalls, I of course had twice the work with two horses to get ready with. Spice and Dew nickered encouragingly as I approached clipping a lead line to Spice first. Within 30 minutes I had both horses in cute matching Ralph Lauren blankets and matching travel boots. I wiped beads of sweat off my forehead as I managed to load my girls onto the trailer and stowing my clothes in the bus compartments. Exhausted I plugged my phone into its portable charger and pulled out my blanket and pillow watching as Lex and Christina did the same. Leaning back I put my earbuds in and started my 'Horse Comp' playlist on Spotify watching as we drove to a Starbucks causing all the girls including Marcia squealed tiredly. A few minutes later I came out with a Caramel Praline latte and a chocolate pastry settling down again in my seat ready for the semi-long drive to the Conneticut State Equition Regionals a qualifier for the Rolex in Kentucky in May.
AN: IM BACK!! Hope you all enjoy!
