Jerk, what a great way to start a new school year. To dump a girl. I mean I knew it wasn't anything special and I think we both knew it wouldn't last, but still... I didn't imagine this would happen.

I was walking down the road to the school and as I put the headphones in my ears the sweet sound of music washed away the bad thoughts.

The walk from my dorm to the school isn't too long; it usually takes me 15 to 20 minutes. I asked for one of the dorms that's the furthest from school.

I mean can you imagine living practically next door to your school. I mean it probably is pretty cool waking up 10 minutes before class and still making it on time. But still, no thank you.

I looked at the time and I saw that I still had 40 minutes left which will give me some valuable time that I intended to spend talking and catching up with my best buds.

As I was getting closer to the school I saw Nicole and the gang as we jokingly call ourselves. And soon enough I found myself smiling which is something that I didn't see coming, at least not today.

As soon as they spot me Nicole smiles and runs up to me and gives me a bear hug.

''Brooke Honey,'' she said in a bad British accent.

''how are you?'' she asked while I was already bro hugging Dylan, Aaron, Keena and Georgio, a more posh but still badass looking Italian friend.

He's been in Australia for quite a long time, he moved here when he was almost 6, so he's been living in our lovely county for 12 long years.

''I'm good.'' I answered honestly.

''Are you serious?'' Dylan asked.

''That jerk Chase just dumped you.''.

''Nuh, uh,'' I snapped at him ''correction I dumped him.''.

The last thing I need is people saying that he dumped me.

He might cheat on me, but at the end I'm the one who dumped him.

''Okay, we all know that but how are you really?'' asked Keena.

''C'mon you guys. I've got tough skin, besides we all knew it wans't going to last. Now can we please start talking about something else than me. You know I don't like this much attention.'' I said to them and they seemed satisfied with my answer.

Well at least most of them.

But then there was Nicole and I saw how she was barely containing herself form speaking up.

And as much as I loved her in this moment I wish that I could strangle her as she brought up my breakup again.

''Okay, but how did you even find out?'' right after she said it we all sighed and probably rolled our eyes, I know I did.
