The ending chapter of this stupid story. Yay!
--------------As I watched my son walk across stage and take his diploma, I felt a swelling in my heart.
Everything I've been through; Everything that Autumn has been through, and here we are, watching our sixteen year old walk across the stage as a high school graduate.
Millicent was so smart. He finished school early. I was proud of him.
His hair got lighter, he was taller, and his eyes got darker. He looked like a splitting image of Autumn and I.
"Mom, dad! I did it!" He was so happy as he jogged over and pulled us into a hug.
"Thank you guys so much. I love you." We kissed his cheek.
"We love you too," Autumn and I said simultaneously.
"Millicent! Millicent!" Millicent turned his head and looked at his boyfriend.
His boyfriend, Cadence, jumped into his arms and basically ate his face.
His boyfriend, despite being two years older than him, resembled a sixth grader. He was extremely short, at least five feet, he had a lot of blonde hair, and brown eyes. He was extremely pale with pink dusting his fat cheeks.
"We did it! We did it. We graduated Milly! Aren't you happy? I'm so happy. And we are going to the same college and rooming together! I'm so happy and excited. I love you so, so, so, so much!" He kissed Millicent all over his face before jumping out of his arms.
Cadence was also really hyper.
"That was disturbing," Autumn whispered in my ear.
Millicent pulled us all in a group hug.
I was proud of myself, for making it successfully. Autumn, for never giving up. Cadence for graduating despite the many times he's been suspended for his loud mouth. And Millicent, for graduating early, loving his family, and putting up with his boyfriend.
