Chapter 13

Two weeks later, I woke up to pounding on the floor. It felt kind of like an earthquake, but it didn't feel like it was letting up any time soon. I climbed out of bed and looked outside.

It wasn't an earthquake. There, approaching camp from different directions, was Zeus and the other gods, and Hades and his minions.

They were just about to cross camp borders. I don't know how they got in, but they did. The border let them pass, free of charge.

I hurriedly got ready. Most people were already outside.

Campers joined sides. Cole stood next to me, waiting for my decision.

The troops marched onward, coming back closer and closer to battle.

Now was the time to choose, but I couldn't decide.

"Electra! Make the right decision. The only way for the world to survive is for you to be on my side. Everyone's lives rest in your hands. Choose my side!" Zeus boomed.

"No! Don't listen to him! He's dirty, conceited, full of himself, and doesn't care about you. Join my side. I promise you and your precious little boyfriend will be spared. You can live in my palace with me. You can be immortal! You will be one of the gods if you join my side. You will be the new generation. You can change the world. Make it better. Just join me in the fight! That's all you need to do to spare your friends, become immortal, and lead a new generation of gods, the most powerful yet, to be exact!" Hades screamed in protest.

"He's lying. He'll kill you the first chance he gets. He doesn't care about anyone but himself! He won't spare you, won't turn you into a god, he'll throw you into the pits of Tartarus as soon as he's king. You have to believe us!" Athena called, joining in the debate.

That's what it felt like, a debate. It felt like an election. Like I had to choose between Zeus and Hades for president. But the stakes were much higher than just president. This was king of the universe.

Each side was pressuring me, bribing me, talking trash about the opposing, just like a real presidential election.

"Electra! Pick our side. The world will be dark, dreary, dead, if Hades is in charge. You don't know him like we do!" Apollo now.

Was I going to have to hear from everyone of my parents? The answer was yes, yes I would have to hear from every last one of them.

"Apollo is right. You're a powerful your maiden, you can't let Hades control you and everything you know," Artemis now.

"Yeah, Elena, we can all win this together!" Dionysus said. I heard that he was known for getting people's names wrong.

"It's Electra," I commented.

"We're a family. We must stick together! Hades has always been an outcast, there's no hope left for him, but the rest of us, we can still be a family. Join us Electra, we love you." Hera.

"Come on. Your life depends on you picking us. You and Percy will be the ultimate duo together. You will be unbeatable!" Poseidon.

"Join us. The faster you join us, the faster this will be over. Then we can all eat cereal together!" Do I even need to tell you who said that? Well, it was Demeter if you didn't guess.

"Let's just fight already. I don't care who's side you're on. If you're on ours, okay hurry up and fight. If you're on theirs, then I'll kill you just the same," Ares said, obviously annoyed with this whole situation.

"Such a pretty young girl. I'll make sure you and your boyfriend have a nice love life if you join our side. Oh, you and Cole are so cute together. I totally ship it!" Aphrodite.

"I know there is some of me in there. Pull that me out and come fight with us!" Hephaestus.

"It's all up to you! Even though you never stayed in my cabin like most do, you're still part me! Join us. Join us. Join us. Join us. Join us. Join us!" Hermes said.

"No! No! No! No! You can not pick them. Join the dark side, the right side. The light isn't always right. They're blinding you with their sunshine happiness, when really they're deceitful liars!" Hades screamed, growing increasingly angry throughout the other Olympians' speeches.

    "Join us!"

     "No! Us!"

      "No! Us!"

       "Us!"

        "!"

        "You're wrong!"

          "I'm right, you're wrong!"

          "I hate you!"

"You are no brother to me!"

          "I'll rip you to pieces!"

"I'll send you to the pits of Tartarus!"

          "Electra, you must choose!"

         "Yeah, choose!"

         "Choose!"

         "Choose!"

          "Choose!!"

I was panicking by now. Everyone was screaming at me. I couldn't take it any longer.

I felt a sharp pull in the bottom of my gut. It felt like an inferno grasping at my insides, burning them up and sending them flying

With everyone screaming, got worse and worse.

Finally, I couldn't take it anymore. I exploded.

Well not literally, but almost.

I screamed, a sharp roar. A battle cry.

Then all my powers surged all at once. So, in a way, it was an explosion.

Poseidon came in with a giant wave, sending me high into the sky. I rode the wave better than any pro surfer, but Percy was better. I only knew that because I had seen him practicing in the ocean earlier.

Zeus came in with three giant lightning bolts. They each killed one of Hades' demons. It was like I subconsciously made the decision to support Zeus and the other gods.

Athena came in by me knowing exactly what to do and when to do it. It was like my battle senses were suddenly so much sharper.

Demeter came in my choking the demons with vines.

Apollo came in with flying arrows going everywhere, hitting the bad side.

I couldn't recognize what the others were, because everything was happening at once. It was insanely chaotic.

Then both sides clashed. Demigods versus demons, demigods versus gods, even demigods versus demigods. It was frightening, but I didn't back down. I raged ahead.

Percy joined me, making a wave of his own, and together we drowned the other team in gallons of water.

I punched and stabbed demons left and right, but I couldn't bring myself to hurt demigods. Only one tried to approach me, and I calmly disarmed them and pushed away.

The battle lasted for a long time. I don't know how long, but it was long. But finally, only Hades was left.

I sent all my powers at him at once. Once I was through with him, he was laying on the ground, unconscious.

Of course, he wasn't dead, because he's immortal, but he was badly injured. Then, Zeus cut him up into pieces, like they had done Kronos.

Hades ended up being the one who was thrown into the deep, dark pits of Tartarus.
