The war was over and done. The whole bad side was dead. There was no one left to fight for Hades. We had won.

The world would remain how it was. Hades wouldn't change it into a living Hell.

Now that I thought about it, I couldn't imagine why I would ever want to fight for Hades. I couldn't imagine why it was such a big decision. Why did I take so long to decide between good and evil? How did I ever think he was good?

Unfortunately, twenty demigods died, and thirty were injured. I looked around, scanning the dead and injured for signs of someone I knew. Well, I knew all of them, but I was looking for people I was closer too.

Then I saw her.

It was Kacey. She was laying on the ground, a big stab wound in her gut, blood pouring out onto the grass. I screamed out and ran over to her, grabbing Cole's hand a long the way and dragging him along as I ran.

"What? What's the problem?" He asked. Then he sucked in a sharp breath, seeing Kacey's body.

"Oh my gods, no. No! No, Kacey!" He yelled, panic racing across his face.

He and Kacey were so close. Brother and sister. I didn't know how he would handle it if she died. He would collapse. I prayed for him that she would make it.

He knelt down by her side. She was alive, but not in good condition.

There was a stab wound in her gut. A big one. The blood seeped through her shirt. Her girly pink shirt. One that shouldn't be worn by a soldier. A warrior. An innocent little girl shouldn't have to fight for her life. Shouldn't have to kill. Shouldn't have to be injured so deeply.

It isn't fair. It isn't right. But, there is nothing I can do about it. Nothing at all.

Apollo kids, otherwise known as the ones who are gifted at healing, rushed around, helping the injured demigods.

"Help! Somebody! She needs help now!" Cole yelled. I could see tears in his eyes. His hands shook, as he held her small hand in his.

An Apollo boy, Christian, and girl, Celia, rushed over. They propped Kacey up on a stretcher, and carried her away. Cole clung to her hand and ran away with her.

"Come on, Kacey. I won't leave your side. Just please, stay with me. Please, Kace, please," he whispered.

I looked around again,  this time surveying our beloved camp, instead of campers. Even though I hadn't been there for as long as others had, it still felt more like home than any place I had ever know.

At that moment, my home was a mess. Nearby cabins were burnt to the ground. Bushes were on fire. Things knocked over. Trees cut in half. It was crazy. It was going to take us a long time to fix it.

I helped clean up for a while, but soon it was clear that it was not going to be done in one night. So instead, Chiron sent us all to dinner.

In the dining area, I looked around for Cole. He wasn't there. He must have been really serious when he told Kacey that he wasn't going to leave her side.

After dinner was over, I brought some leftovers for Cole. I walked over to the infirmary and opened up the door. A lot of campers were injured. There were about eighteen of them lying on beds, so the rest of the injured must have been quicker fixes, or much more serious injuries than I had thought.

My stomach churned at the thought of anymore of my friends dead.

Kacey was on the fifth bed from the door. Cole sat in a chair next to the bed, staring off into space blankly at the wall. He didn't see me go in.

I walked over to him and stood behind him. I put my hands on his shoulders. He looked over his shoulder at me.

"Hey Electra," he said hoarsely.

"Hi Cole, how's Kacey?" I asked.

"Okay, I guess. They say she's going to live, but probably sleep for a few more days."

"That's great news. Kacey is going to be fine. She's a fighter, you know."

"Electra?" He whispered, so I could barely hear him.

"Yeah?"

"Can you come here?"

I stood in front of him. He looked at me for a second, then stood up, rushed toward me and hugged me tightly, like his life depended on it. It was a desperate hug, he just needed one so badly.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and let him hold onto me for dear life.

He buried his face in my neck. I could feel his lips brush my collar bone, every time he took a breath. It left a spark each time it moved. His cheek pressed into me. I rubbed his back a little.

He pulled away a little, so he could look at me. He had a small, lopsided grin implanted on his face. He tilted my chin up gently, with his thumb.

That moment was frozen in time. I still remember how it felt. The anticipation, waiting for whatever he was going to do next. Wanting the wait to be over, but dreading it's ending all at the same time.

Then finally, his lips were on mine. We were kissing. Boy, was it worth the wait.

His hand cupped my face, like it was the only thing worth saving in the world. He had his other hand on my back, pressing my body into his, like it was his salvation.

I clung to him, like if I left go for one instant, he'd be gone and never come back. I never wanted it to end. I just wanted to cuddle up in his arms forever and ever. I wanted to hold on tight and never let go.

"Hey! What are you two doing? Oh, you're kissing! It finally happened! Yes! Cotra is reality!" Kacey shrieked.

We immediately broke apart. "Kacey? How long have you been awake?" Cole asked.

"Like thirty seconds. You guys are adorable together!"

Cole smiled and pecked my cheek, causing a light shade of pink to heat up my cheeks.

"We better be, Aphrodite promised!" Cole said, and we all laughed.

So this is it. This is the end. This story is short, I know. Hope you enjoyed it anyways!
