The Promise

Romeo's POV

"Romeo wake up" someone said shaking me, Brooklyn.

"Yeah?" I yawned sitting up.

"Wanna get something for Lily?" He asked.

"Come on I need to talk to you" he whispered so he doesn't wake up Lily, I sighed before getting up making Lil move in her sleep.

"What's up?" I asked as soon as we got downstairs.

"I've been reading this girl magazine an-" but he got cut off by me laughing.

"Dude" He said slapping the side of my head.

"Sorry, sorry go on" I cleared my throat.

"Right well I was at the store with Mum and I saw a magazine that caught my eye" he said rummaging in his bag, when he found it he showed me the cover.

"It's Lily" I shrugged.

"Romeo go on page 24" he said, I flipped through the pages seeing that Lil got her own page.

"Her dream ring" I whispered looking at the picture.

"Yes it says and I caption I always wanted a ring like this, but given to me by the right person. To me it means infinite love" Brook said looking at me.

"Brook, I have the exact same ring in my drawer!" I yelled.

"And that's why I showed you this magazine" He smirked.

"It was the ring that Maddie rejected" I mumbled making Brook slap me on the head again.

"Romeo, Lil isn't like Maddie. When you give her that ring she'll accept it. Not throw it out in the middle of the streets" he chuckled but soon frowned when I didn't respond.

"You know I still have feelings for Maddie, I can't just give away that ring without thinking of her" I sighed.

"Romeo she cheated on you with some football quarterback, how can you still like her?" Brook shook his head.

"Oh I don't know maybe because we've dated for two years and she used to live next door to us, maybe that's why Brooklyn!" I shouted letting out a frustrated sigh.

"You just have to forget about her Romeo think of Lily now, Maddie's a bad person" Brook said softly.

"Yeah but Lily's exactly like Maddie, she just didn't cheat" I said making Brook glare at me.

"Are you kidding! Lily is nothing like Maddie! In fact, Lily didn't try to play with your heart. When you were out playing with Cruz one day, Maddie came up and kissed me. That was the day before you guys broke up, I never told you this because it didn't mean anything. I'm saying this to you now because I don't want you going back to her bro, I never liked or trusted her. I trust Lily, I can tell that y'all will last. Just do me a favor and don't make the mistake of losing her" Brook said walking back upstairs leaving me both shocked and sad of what he just said.

I'm giving Lily that promise ring.

"Hey baby, why are you up so early?" Mum yawned coming downstairs

"Uh I'm giving Lily a promise ring" I smiled.

"Oh really that's nice hun, what does it look like?" She asked pouring a cup of orange juice for herself.

"The ring Maddie rejected" I mumbled.

She nearly choked on her drink before speaking, "Wow you must really love Lily Romeo" she smiled.

"Yeah but I know she's the one Mum" I said.

"Okay, as long as she doesn't treat you like how Maddie did alright?" She said giving me a stern look.
