Disclaimer: you know the drill but I do own Dex)
(Eli's POV)
Splash! And we all went under. I opened my eyes and looked for the surface before kicking my way up to air. I gasped coming up and looked around to see the rest of the gang surfacing too.
"Um where's Dex?" Kord asked. I looked around but didn't see her anywhere.
"Not again," I heard Kord sigh before I dived back under. I looked around frantically but the water was so dark. Wait a sec, there! It was Dex's blaster. I swam towards it but Dex was not attached to it. Then I heard a muffled whimper. I whipped around to see Dex trying to swim to the surface but she wasn't moving. I looked down and saw her foot was stuck in between the rocks. She was struggling now and her movements were becoming sluggish. (No pun intended) I raced over to her and her eyes widened a bit. I grabbed ahold onto her leg and we both pulled. It came free but when I looked up at her her eyes were closed. I whipped my arm around her and frantically pulled her to the surface. We broke through the water and Dex erupted into a coughing fit. I pulled her to the shore and held her up as she spit out water. Then to my surprise she pushed me away.
"I would have made it out you know," she said turning onto her back.
"But I saved your life, again!" I protested.
"Um where's the gang?" She asked and I calmed down enough to looked around. Dex was right the rest of the team was gone. But then again, we weren't by the waterfall. We were in a cave!
"I'll contact the team to let them know we're alive," I said before activating the mic. "Guys pit's Eli. I've got Dex and we are in some underwater cavern. Find us as soon as you can."
"Copy that Eli," said Trixe.
"So what do we do now?" asked Dex.
"I don't know," I sighed. Then a thought stuck me. "You know it's your fault were in here."
"What?!" she screamed.
"Yeah," I said getting fired up. "If you had been watching your back in the factory, you wouldn't have been shot. Then you wouldn't have been hypnotized and I wouldn't of had to break the spell, and Blakk wouldn't have shot you. Then you wouldn't have been injured and we wouldn't of had to escape down here. So we wouldn't have been chased, causing you to fall and nearly drowned. Then I wouldnt of had to save you and bring you back to the surface and we wouldn't be here!"
"You didn't have to save me!" she yelled at me. "I would have been fine by myself you know! I always am!"
"Well what if you weren't!" I protested. "What would I-we do! What would we do if we knew we let you die." My voice got quiet. "I couldn't live knowing that I wasn't able to save you." Dex didn't respond and I sighed. "You might not believe this Dex but some of us want you here. And... I wanna keep you safe."
"I'm sorry," she said quietly. "I'm sorry I got us into this mess."
"No I'm sorry," I said standing up. "I'm sorry I yelled at you and I'm sorry blaming you. I'm sorry you got hurt and I'm sorry I was able to stop it."
"Hey it's not your fault," she said standing up. "It wasn't your fault that Blakk was able to surprise me. Just be glad you managed to save me, I know I am."
"Thanks Dex," I said smiling. "That means a lot." We fell into an awkward silence before Dex sighed.
"Come here," she said before hugging me. "Everything's gonna be fine, you'll see." I nodded slightly and returned the hug. Just then there was an explosion that knocked both of us to the ground.
"Looks like they found a way to keep busy," said Trixe lowering her blaster.
"What are you..." Then I felt a weight shift on top of me. Dex sat up, rubbing her head before her eyes widened and she practically kicked me off her.
"You might want to aim better next time," I said offering my hand to Dex and pulling her up.
"So what were you two doing in here?" asked Kord with a smirk.
"Talking," I replied.
Yelling," said Dex. "In fact I was just about to punch this guy when you showed up and ruined my aim. Thanks a lot guys," she growled, walking out of the cavern.
