sammi's pov
"samantha let's go!" karis yelled as i applied the finishing touches to my face.
i rolled my eyes at her word choice. i hated when people other than my mom and jack called me 'samantha.' i'd much rather them call me sam or sammi.
"i'm coming!" i yelled back.
"she a bitch?" jack asked as i applied light gloss.
i shook my head. "she's actually nice. i don't see how my dad left mom for her though."
i grabbed my phone from the wall and walked downstairs.
"i'm ready." i told karis and she nodded.
"we're waiting on andrea now." she said.
"okay. jack, i'm gonna go." i looked at the screen and he frowned.
"okay baby girl. i love you and i miss you."
"i love you and miss you more, baby boy. bye." i blew him a kiss and winked. he copied my actions and ended our 56 minute call.
"long distance?" karis asked as i sighed and placed my phone in my hipster.
i nodded and she walked over to me, rubbing my back softly.
"it's hard the first few weeks, but it'll get better." she smiled.
"are you sure? it seems like it gets worse."
"positive. go tell your sister to hurry up." she shooed me upstairs.
i walked up to andrea's room which was right next to mine and opened the door to find her quietly sobbing on the floor.
"drea.. what's wrong?" i asked quietly, scaring her a bit.
"i miss home." she sobbed into her shirt.
"so do i, trust me. but, you gotta straighten up. you gotta make this your home for now. we can move back to omaha when we turn eighteen."
"you're right." she sighed, using her shirt to dry her tearstained cheeks.
"want me to pick you out an outfit and do your makeup?"
she nodded and stood up.
i walked over to her unpacked boxes and picked out a pair of black jean shorts and a plain red tank top. she took the clothes and changed into them. andrea's been skinny her whole life, one of the many things i envied about my twin. she picked out some red vans and slipped them on.
i took her hand and walked her to my bathroom and pulled out my train case of makeup.
she has a very clear, acne-free face, another thing i envy about her. i applied some concealer, pink blush, black winged eyeliner, light pink eyeshadow, and some pink gloss.
i ran a brush through her long brown hair and pulled it into two braided pigtails.
"damn sis. when'd you become a professional makeup artist?" she looked into my mirror and played around with her pigtails.
"shut up. you look hot!" i touched up my gloss.
"thanks. let's go." she walked out of my room and i followed until we reached the living room.
"you girls ready to go shopping?" karis smiled, grabbing her keys and purse.
we both nodded with smiles.
"wait, i forgot my purse." i said and ran back upstairs, grabbing my wallet, phone, charger, and headphones and stuffing them into my small hipster.
