jack's pov

one month later, a day before sammi's graduation

all of my bags were packed and i was ready. today is the day i fly down to miami to surprise my baby girl for her graduation. i hadn't told sammi i was coming down so i'm expecting tears to fall, lots of tears.

"mom can you drive me down to the airport?" i asked, bringing my three bags down the stairs.

"of course honey. do you have the jewelry you bought for her?" she asked, grabbing her keys.

"yeah, i have the jewelry, the dress, and the shoes mom. i'm all set. got my money and everything." i smiled.

she nodded and slipped two hundred dollars into my hand. "tell sammi it's from the coolest mom ever."

i laughed and took my bags out to the car. after all the stuff was in the back, i pulled out my phone and texted karis.

jack ; hey i'm gonna be in miami around 2, you still picking me up?

karis ; yes! i havent told sammi. she's gonna be so happy. she loves you alot.

jack ; okay dont tell her. i want it to be a surprise. i love her so much, she means the world to me(:

karis ; you two are so cute. i'll be there at two to pick you up hun.

jack ; thanks karis(:

i shut my phone off and slipped it into my shorts pocket.

"you're coming back in two days, correct?" my mom asked and i nodded.

"i can't miss my graduation." i replied.

fifteen minutes later, we're here. mom and i got all my bags and put them in the loading area.

"i'll be back soon, momma. love you." i kissed her cheek and hugged her tightly.

"use protection, son." she whispered in my ear with a slight smile.

i nodded and laughed. as soon as we let go of each other, the intercom called my flight number.

"bye mom." i waved her off and began walking to the loading area. i sat to this old white guy and a middle aged asian woman. they looked pretty cool so i didn't mind that much.

later that day, 1:48 pm.

sammi's pov

"sammi, wanna go to the grocery store with me hon?" karis yelled from downstairs.

"sure! let me brush my hair!" i stood up from my three hour long youtube marathon and stretched. i was already dressed because i felt like getting dressed as soon as i woke up this morning. i ran a brush through my hair and pulled it into a regular braid.

i slipped on my flip flops and grabbed my phone, running downstairs to meet karis who was holding her car keys.

"ready to go?" she smiled and i nodded. we both walked out to the car. the weather was pretty nice today, a slight 87°F.

i got into the passenger seat and buckled up. gotta be safe. karis began driving, but not the way to the grocery store.

"uhh.. the grocery store was the other way, karis." i said awkwardly and she just smiled at me.

"you'll figure it out." she beamed. i was totally confused.

then, i realized something. i've been this way before. this way is all too familiar. a giant airstrip came into view.. wait.. were we driving to the airport?

"why are we here..?" i asked with confusion on my face.

"sam, i said we'll see." she said and i sighed.

she pulled into a parking spot and basically pulled me out of the car. i still don't get why we're here.

a giant airplane hit the landing strip, making a horrific noise.

"come on, let's go in." she held my hand and pulled me into the building. it smelled like vending machine snacks and that plane scent that all airports smell like.

"flight 779 from omaha, nebraska has just landed." the intercom man boomed and confusion laced my face once again.

"hey, i used to live there." i said and karis smiled.

"i know. just wait."

people piled out and karis looked through them. her face immediately brightened when i assumed she found who she was looking for.

i looked through the crowd and locked eyes with someone who i didn't think i would see in person for another good two months.

jack. fucking. gilinsky.

the breath was knocked out of me and i was barely standing. his pearly white smile beamed as he pushed past people to reach me. i think he even knocked down a kid.

as soon as he reached me, he locked lips with me, not caring that there were like 500 people around us. the now unfamiliar taste of his lips tasted so good.

he let go of my lips and just smiled, staring into my eyes.

"why are you here?" i whispered. i knew if i spoke any louder tears would flow.

"i'm here for your graduation, baby girl." he pressed our foreheads together and i burst into tears. tears of joy of course, because my baby is here.

"this is amazing. absolutely amazing." i whispered again, burying my head into his warm chest.

the sound of a camera snap was heard and i looked up to see karis with a gigantic smile upon her face.

"the moment was too cute to miss." she grinned and i smiled softly.

"you're so much cuter in person." he said and i blushed.

"so are you."

"i know." he acted like he flipped his hair and i laughed.

my baby is here. in my arms. and not on my phone screen.

an :: im gonna try to update during the week this week we'll see how that works out 😊
