(First time writing a story. I'm only a beginner. Well here it is. Hope you peeps love it!:) enjoy! And hopefully you peeps vote, comment and like it)
It was long ago, very long ago.
If I recall it was about the 1800's. The British were settling in the new world. America.
I was a young girl about 18 years old. My maiden name is Abigail Green. I have long brunette hair and brown eyes. I lived in a little town with my family and other people that came with us.
We were getting used to living in a new environment. We never been so far away from Great Britain. At this age every girl would start to get married an have kids.
But not me I still wasn't ready yet. Every guy would try to get with me but I never accepted them. I wanted to find my true soul mate.
Not just random guy asking for my hand in marriage. No no not that way.
Soon after 3 years passed. I was 21 years old still haven't married anyone. Everyone in the village thought I was some weirdo because I would reject every guy.
New settlers came to join us in our town. There was some young men and many family's. There was one family that was very well know. They were know as the "Vaughn" family.
The mother was so beautiful and so young, she had long blonde hair with big blue eyes. The father was young himself too. He was very handsome. They had four children.
The oldest is Adam. He was romantic, he knew how to treat a girl. All the girls were all over him. He looked to be 25.
The only girl child was Victoria. She is the third child and she was beautiful like her mother. She also has blonde hair and blue eyes. She looked to be 19.
The baby in the family is Edward. He is 16 years old. The younger girls were after him. He was so adorable.
The middle child is Derek. He is so mysterious. He is the same age as me 21.
He didn't get girls much but he was sexy. But when he did he didn't seem to care for them. I sometimes wonder if I should go talk to him but would always be scared he wouldn't care for me either.
I have to admit I did actually love this person that I didn't even know. I felt like if this was the guy I was dreaming this whole time this was him. My soul mate.
I could stop thinking of him. Every moment, every second I look at him, I just want to known him.
That day my mother told me to buy some bread. She gave me the money and I put on my red long coat to go to the store.
I put my hood on and walked down the road to the store. I hated going to the store sometimes. Just because I wasn't married yet everyone gave me the evil eye.
I walked down the road and some men stop doing what they doing to look at me. Even some of the women stop and whispered in there partners ear.
I knew they were talking about me. I wasn't stupid at all. Once I got there with my head down I asked kindly to the clerk for some bread. "Um sorry madam we don't have bread, we ran out.", he said. "That's okay thank you anyways."
I walked down with my head down and suddenly bumped into a guy. "Oh my, I'm terribly sorry.", I said helping the guy up. Then I notice it was Derek I've bumped into.
"It's okay", he said cleaning his pants. He looked at me and just couldn't say anything. "Um um um....." "Haha", I giggled. "Um I'm sorry" "What for I'm the one that bumped into you.", I said smiling at him.
He just looked at me and smiled back. "Well I best be going, my mother is waiting for me at home." "Okay maybe we will meet again soon". I smiled, "Yes again soon."
I walked away with a smile on my face. He then yelled out, "Wait! I don't know your name?" "It's Abigail Green." "That's a beautiful name." He yelled out. I left towards the road to my house.
As I arrived home I told my mother there was no bread. "Oh well maybe tomorrow we will get some.", she said smiling. "Okay ill try to get some early in the morning, mother."
I left outside to take a walk. I always loved to take walks out in the woods. It was peace and quiet. It was the time where I could be alone. Where I felt I was the only person in the world. Like I could do anything in the world.
Then I heard a noise. I thought maybe it was just a deer or bird. I kept walking and thinking about being alone. Then I heard it again. "Who's there? Show yourself.", I said looking around.
Then Derek came out of the bushes. "Oh gosh you scared me." "I'm sorry. I just saw you walk into the woods.", he said blushing. "When you said we will meet again soon I didn't think today I thought tomorrow or something."
"I'm sorry, maybe I shouldn't followed you here",he said walking away. "Wait don't leave. It's okay if you stay with me." "Are you sure?" "Yes I am sure.", I said smiling.
He smiled back and said, "So what do you do here anyways?" "Well it takes my mine from all the stress and helps me calm down." "Oh same with me." "Oh haha."
Then there was an awkward silence. I didn't know what to do. If I should talk or just leave. "Well um how old are you?" "21" "Me too", he said happily.
"You know there is a gathering at my house?" "Yes I know my mother told me about it." "Are you going to go?" "Well I don't know if I should because well...." "Well what?"
"Um..okay I'll just say it...I'm not married so people give me these weird looks and think there is something wrong with me. They always take it out on my mother."
"Oh um who cares what people think. I'm inviting you to go." "As your date?" "Yes as my date, just go it will be fun just me and you.", he said excited. "Okay then I'll go."
"Yes well I have to go Ill see you there bye", he said smiling. "Bye", I said back. I guess I'm going to a gathering with Derek. With Derek. Those words kept repeating in my mind over and over.
