Stay With Me (by V.A.R)

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

​       Jenna and Kara were in the living room watching a movie and her mother is in the kitchen, they haven't talk again with Margaret.
       ​The movie is in the middle and Kara doesn't know what movie she's watching yet. She hasn't been paying a lot of attentions to the movie. Every minute she looks down at her phone to see if she has a text from Jorge or if by miracle Adam call her.
       ​Jorge text her twenty minutes ago that he talked to Adam and that he was on his way to his house. Jorge said he sounded really mad, so he was going to his house, but he had to take of something before and that he'll text Kara when he's with Adam.
       ​She's worry that Adam will drink again and do something again, because of her... again. She stills feels guilty because of the accident and she doesn't wants to add something more on the list of things that she should feel guilty about.
       ​Her phone vibrated in her hand and she desperately looks down at it and sees a text from Jorge "He's in his house. Drinking and angry, but I hide the keys of his car."
       ​'Drinking??? No! That's what I didn't want. He can't be drinking. But of course Jorge doesn't know that. To everyone it seems normal he's drinking after he had a fight with his girlfriend but he can't... and I cannot tell Jorge that Adam is an alcoholic because Adam wouldn't want that. I need to go there. There is no other choice. I don't care if he doesn't want to see me. It's for his own good, no matter what he thinks' she stands-up and Jenna pauses the movie and asks Kara "Where're you going?"
       ​"Adam's house, Jorge is with him and he told me to come over there." she lies because she knows that if she tells her that Adam probably still doesn't want to talk to her then Jenna would say she has to give him space. But what Jenna doesn't know is that he's drinking and that he's an alcoholic so she wouldn't understand how important it's for Kara to go talk to Adam.
       ​"He wants to talk you?" Jenna asks surprise and Kara shrugs and says "Apparently."
​       She texts Jorge back "Coming over. I'll text u so u can open the door." she grabs the keys of her car and walks toward the door but before she can open the door her mother stops her screaming "Kara Alexis Morgan you're not allowed to go out of this house!"
       Kara grabs door handle and turns around seeing her mother before opening the door "Oh I really don't care about your opinion right now mom."
       She opens the door and shuts it close before her mother can answer and she goes to her car and drives.

       ​Kara texts Jorge that she's out and in a minute he opens the door, they share a glance and then he lets her in.
       ​"Who is it?" Adam shouts and Jorge guides her to the kitchen where Adam is sitting with a bottle of what seems rum in his hand.
       ​"Hey." she says in a low voice and Adam sees Kara entering the kitchen and he turns his head at Jorge who's behind Kara and he asks him angry "Why did you let her in?"
       ​"Because you two need to talk." he explains to Adam, but he shakes his head in denial and takes a long sip at his bottle and then says "I don't need to talk to her."
       ​Jorge touches Kara's shoulder and says in a low voice so Adam can't hear him "I'll leave you guys alone." and then he leaves and Kara walks toward Adam and sits in the chair beside him. She tries to grab the bottle out of his hand but he jerks his hand away holding the bottle steady.
​       She gives him a serious and worry look and says "Put the bottle down Adam please. I get you're mad at me, but with that-." she points to the bottle and continues "you're hurting yourself." he processes her words and slowly he puts the bottle down, and she grabs it and puts it in the floor just in case he wants to drink from it later.
       ​"You need to listen to me." she tells him in a sweat and soft voice but he shakes his head and says "I already listen enough."
​       She grabs his hand and says "You misunderstood the situation."
       ​He shakes his head again and says angry "I don't think I did."
       ​"I didn't tell my mother anything." she explains to him and he looks at her confuse and asks
       ​"Then how-?" she cuts him before he could finish his question and explains to him "She had someone to spied on you... she did it with every person me and my brother dated."
       ​"And you knew she did that and didn't tell me anything?" he asks her not sounding so angry now.
       ​"I find out the day after my parent's party. When I came home my mom was waiting for me in the kitchen and we had a fight and she said it... I was going to tell you, I swear... I was actually going to tell you after the movie, but Austin showed-up and well... and I didn't want to tell you over the phone because it's not something you drop over the phone to someone... and then you had the accident and I know I should've told you in these past two days, but I was so scare you would leave when you realize how crazy my mom is and... I didn't want to lose you. I'm so sorry. I know I should've told you before."​
       ​He looks at her and he knows that she's being honest and he processes all the information and after a minute he says "You weren't going to lose me Kara. I will never leave you. No matter what happens today, tomorrow or twenty years from now, I will always want to be with you." she hugs him glad he forgive her and that he still wants to be with her.
       ​When the break the hug Kara looks down at the bottle she has by her side and then she looks back at Adam again and tells him "You need to promise me you will never drink again."
       ​"I promise you that if you promise me that you will never hide anything else from me. I don't care what it is." he says grabbing both of her hands and she nods and says "I promise."
       ​He kisses her on the cheek and he whispers in her ear "I promise."
​       She stands-up and says "C'mon we will throw out every last bottle you've."
