A Day Early
///I set my backpack down on the table, letting out a sigh of relief since it was the last day of school today. I smell cookies in the oven that my dad must've been baking. I'm surprised he was actually baking cookies for once and not any illegal materials outside. I stop laughing at my own joke and my eyes glance at the mail and I see a letter addressed to me.
I smile wide and pick it up, starting to open it because I knew exactly what it was. It read...

Endless questions played in my head, what if I'll meet a boy, what if I'm the favorite counselor, or what if I get homesick? The most important question though; will the food be good?
I ran to my room and started packing, since I do leave tomorrow. Yes, it did come very quickly and Kathryn warned us about that but I didn't listen. I grab a large suitcase and start throwing everything in there and then I hear my door creak behind me, "Well someone is excited to leave?" My dad asks from behind. I turn around and answer with a smile on my face, "Not that I'm excited to leave, it's just a new adventure before I have to be an adult."
My dad laughs and comes in my room to give me a hug, "You better behave yourself." I take a step back from his hug and laugh, "Dad, it's summer camp and I'm the counselor. I'm going to do what I want." My dad shakes his head but laughs at me, "Just don't get sent home," and he walks out of my room.
Such great advice.
As I was packing, my butt started to vibrate and I laugh because it was tickling me but then I answer my phone, "Howdy friend! Are you ready??" I yell into the phone.
"Carrie, are you packed?" My best friend, Sam asks. Sam has been my best friend for years. Him and I grew up at this camp and now we are finally working it. God, that place is going to burn down.
"Sam! I literally just got home, plus, we don't leave until tomorrow!"
"Kathryn wants us in today..."
It was silent for a few minutes but I broke that silence with a huge sigh.
"Of course she does! What a woman she is. Alright, hang up the darn phone and pick me up in an hour. I'm about to take my last warm and wonderful shower."
Before I hang up, I hear a subtle, "Can I join you?"
I hang up the phone and then proceed to my bathroom. I turn on the radio and start dancing to Gibberish by Max and yes, I'm dancing naked at this point. I get in the shower and I do everything I have to do. Eventually, I finish up and dry off. I open to the door from the bathroom to my bedroom and see Sam sitting on my bed. Normally, I would scream if a boy saw me in just a towel, I mean, even I would scream. But the thing with Sam is that he is gay.
"Sam, it hasn't been an hour yet, it's been like 20 minutes," I tell him while picking out some clothes from my dresser. Picking out from what I have left at least.
"I got lonely, plus, I have some exciting news to tell you." He says with a devilish smile. "I think you are going to love it. Actually, you're going to loves it."
I run back into the bathroom to put a bra and underwear on and slide some leggings on over that and a baggy shirt over the rest of my goods. I then walk out to see Sam dying to tell me.
"You wanna know why Kath wants us there today?"
"Sam just tell me."
"Well-" he starts to say real slow.
"-come on, spit it out."
"We have some special guests joining us. This sounds bizarre and unusual, like the type of stuff a teenage girl would write about but 5 seconds of direction is coming to our camp!"
I tackle myself on Sam and my body is now on top of his body, "5 Seconds of Direction? Are you an idiot? Now I know you're lying. And it's 5 seconds of summer, ya dumb."
Sam sighs and then continues to talk, "That is what I meant. But anyways, they're coming to camp with us and they're going to be counsellors and they are going to help us lead songs and all that."
Puzzled still, I ask, "But why?"
"We are a top notch Christian camp and it will look good for their label. They needed some positive media coverage and their managers thought it'd be best if they join us. It's kinda like that one movie, Camp Rock!! But we're not teaching the kids to sing or to rock..."
I laugh and roll of of Sam and to the side of him, "This is going to be one interesting summer."
"H.ell yeah it is!!" Sam shouts as he gets up.
I watch him run out of my bedroom, grabbing my suitcase and I silently mumble to myself, "Dibs on Ashton Irwin."

Author's Note:
This is just the beginning(duh). Also, I have fallen in love with @inthepants story called "Cabin 3" so you should check it out. I got the idea of writing about camp from her! So I would just like to thank her for a great setting. And your book is so awesome. Also did the dot thing because she had a great idea and I'm using it.
