I like you a little
///

"I want to talk to Carrie," Michael demanded.

"What do you want?" I rudely ask. I was just tired. I had nothing against Michael.

"Ashton says he's sorry." He pauses.

"Yah well, that's good to know. I'm kinda pissed at him."

"Look, I know he made you have a panic attack but I've never seen him flustered around someone before."

"He's only known me for like 7 hours, I don't think he's getting flustered."

"Fine. But just know that he is sorry." Michael leaves my cabin and Sam comes out from the bathroom.

"I am going to head out too," Sam says while hugging me goodbye.

I get up from my bed and I decide to decorate the rest of my cabin with more lights and some posters I had. Not to mention a small 5sos poster, I really hope they don't see that one. Once I'm done, I decide to head down to the big field, to just relax in the grass and sun. Plus, there was wifi down here.

From: Jack
Guess who will be at camp in an hour??? I will be, sorry I didn't give you time to guess. Anyways my phone is about to die, I'll see you soon at camp h.ell!!

A huge smile spread across my face as I read his text. Along with Sam, Jack was one of my other closest friends. Jack had long blonde hair that met his shoulders and he had shimmering blue eyes. He always wore a smile and it always made my day. I had actually liked Jack for a little while. I never told him, but maybe this summer was the perfect opportunity to.

--

"Carrie!! Wake up!" A voice yelled.

Well this seemed way too familiar. I woke up in the grass to see Jack's freckled cheeks right in front of me.

"Jack!!" I get up and hug him. "How are you?? It's so great to see you!"

"Were you just taking a little nap in the field?" He laughs. "I'm fine! Really excited to be here. How are you?" He continues to speak while picking me up and spinning me around.

"Well, 5SOS is here and Sam! And I already had a panic attack!!" I say with a soft smile.

He puts me down and starts to worry, "What, why??"

"Canoes," I softly laugh.

"You went on a canoe? What's wrong with you? Is that Carrie in there?"

"Ashton convinced me." I say with regret.

"I'll beat his butt." There was a comfortable silence that filled the air. Silence with Jack never bothered me. But before I knew it, his eyes were two inches away from mine and his soft pink lips met with my somewhat dry lips. At first, I was in utter shock but I eventually closed my eyes and kissed him back. It was surreal. This was the moment I had been waiting for.

We both make our way to his cabin, so he can get settled in. There was still silence amongst us, but I didn't want to ruin it.

"Was that okay, Carrie?" He asks nervously.

I had never seen Jack Burdick so nervous before. He cheeks turned noticeably red and it looked like he was about to speak but I cut him off with another kiss.

"Of course it was okay," I laugh while slowly pulling my mouth away from his.

"Good." He puts his luggage down and unzips the first bag, starting to unpack his clothes and put them in the dresser. He did it so neatly and it was so organized. I love a man who can keep a room clean.

"I'm going to head out, but I'll see you around!" I start to walk out the door but then he hits me with another question.

"Wait, what does this make us?"

"We've shared two kisses. It doesn't mean we are anything just yet. Let's see how this first week goes." I walk out of the cabin, letting the door close behind me. It was starting to get dark out and I decided to go back to the big field. Not for the wifi this time but for the beautiful night sky above me.

Stars filled the sky and it was pleasing to the eye. Every now and then a shooting star would pass and I would make wishes for my family and friends. I decided that the next shooting star I see will be for me. Of course, I laid there for ten minutes and didn't see a single one.

I hear someone come up behind me, "Carrie, is that you?" Ashton whispers.

"No, it's Obama."

"Hey, glad to see you're doing better." He says while laying next to me.

"Yeah, I am glad I am doing better too. It wouldn't have happened though if a certain idiot didn't persuade me to go on a canoe." I say with anger in my voice. I actually was a bit pissed off because when someone says no, they mean no.

"Look, I'm sorry. I just wanted to have a fun time with you."

"Well, we can have fun doing other things. Like zip lining, or hiking." I then turn to him and notice the bandage that was up and down his left hand and arm. I then feel sympathy towards him, "I am sorry you got stung. And thank you for carrying me back... I guess."

"Luckily I got to the nurse's cabin in time, other wise I would not be in a good state right now. And yeah, no problem. What was I supposed to do? Leave you there to drown?"

I then look back at the sky, waiting for a shooting star.

"I'm going to head back to my cabin now. Call me on my walky if you need anything. Night Carrie," he says quietly while getting up. He then heads back to his cabin.

I then hear Michael scream because Ashton walked in on him changing his underwear. What an interesting group of boys that are here.

"I just wish to fall in love and find my love. I don't care when. I'm just tired of playing around and I want to find the one," I sigh while looking up at the stars. Before I knew it, a shimmering star glided across the black night sky.

I got back up and headed to my cabin to hit the hay. Tomorrow is the last day before campers arrive and I don't know if I'm ready. I kinda just wish it was a camp for people my age so I could just have fun and fall in love.
