The Attack

There we were. In the middle of a god forsaken swamp, far from any civilized society. Any minute we could face our enemies.
As my advance guard moved up, I ordered a group of scouts to go further and search for the front lines of the separatist troops. I then moved my rear guard up to support the right flank. The middle of my force was the bulk, not needing reinforcements.
"I always wanted to be posted on Coreasaunt. I've only been there a few times." Private Dus said.
"I went a couple of times, too. The skyscrapers are amazing." I replied.
"The scouts are reporting, sir." said CT Ionics.
"Established contact." I replied.
"Right away, sir."
"Sir," the hologram appeared, "We have found an abandoned outpost near a brook. Requesting permission to engage enemies if found."
"Denied, wait for us. Do not engage. What are your coordinates?" I said.
"Sector 7.0/0. Wait, what the-- ITS A TRAP!! AHHH!!!" The transmission cut off.
"Scout! Scout!!" I yelled.
No response.
"Get moving! All companies converge on sector 7.0/0, now!" I barked out.
"You heard him! Let's go." Dus joined in.
We moved swiftly, but silently. The AT-RT would make to much nose, so I left it back with a four man guard.
"General Durkin," I told him via hologram, "we lost our five scouts in sector 7.0/0. We are moving to engage."
"Understood," he said, "stay vigilant. May the force be with you, and good luck."
"Likewise, general." I responded.
We began to approach sector 7.0/0. "Companies A-C move up the center towards the outpost. D-E move through the right, and F-H move through the left. Let's go."
We silently moved up towards the ruins of the outpost. I firmly held my rifle at my waist. A million things flowed through my mind, but I remained calm.
Suddenly, shouts came from the left and then blaster fire. We were engaged.
"Return fire!" I commanded.
I knelt down near a tree stump and began unloading my rifle. By my count I took out six.
"Move up to support H Company!" I barked out.
Suddenly an AAT blasted out of the woods, firing at out troops.
"Tank!!!" CT Spikes yelled.
"Take cover!!!"
As it bombarded us, explosions destroyed everything. As looked in horror, a trooper blasting towards a B2 Battle Droid was directly hit. Blown apart.
"Get me a rocket launcher!" I called out.
Soon, CT Tanner lurched out from cover and handed me a Republic issued rocket launcher.
I held it up. Holding the front part and resting the back on my shoulder. I concentrated on the tank, zoning out the surrounding bloodshed. I let out a deep breath. My aim was aligned. I fired.
BOOM!!!
It then exploded into a thousand pieces.
"Push forward!" I yelled.
I returned the bazooka to Tanner and picked my rifle up. This was real war.
I continued to pour fire into the Separatist lines.
"Sir," Captain Cleve said, "I have to report heavy casualties!"
"Understood!" I replied, "Hold your position!"
After an hour of brutal fighting, the Separatist forces are in full retreat.
"Sir, should we pursued?" asked Cap. Cleve.
"No, not yet."
