Meet the Mean Girls

beep. beep. beep.
No thank you.
Beeeeep. Beeeeep. Beeeee-
I slam my fist onto the alarm clock. i grab my glasses and swing both my legs out of bed.
"time for another day," i moan to myself.
While i put my contacts in, i can't help but think about rilee. And riley too, i guess, but mostly rilee. It's just something so stupid about him, and how he pushes his glasses up when he reads, and how he smiles when someone makes a stupid joke, that makes me think of him all morning. i know it's just a stupid "crush" or something, but i can't help myself. When a new door opens (and when that door leads to so many new boys) all girls would dive head first. I just never thought that i would.

When my mom drops me off at school, i walk towards to doors. On the way there, I see Alayah. I hesitate, then tap her on the shoulder.
She turns around, saying:
"Hey, girl! how are you? Not stressing too much about school, right?"
I smile, "No, not that much. How about you?"
"Listen, I stopped caring about school long ago." She laughs, and i join in, walking together towards the school building.

Alayah and i are soon joined by Iko, and both rilies (is that the correct plural of riley?)
"Guys, fricking Dr. Ming totally gave us a ton of homework," Riley moans.
"Yeah, i don't really like him," Iko joins in.
"Hey, i like him!" Rilee scolds.
"Boy, that's because you're a complete science dork," Alayah giggles.
"NERD," Iko hollers. Riley laughs, hiccuping.
"Your laugh is way more embarrassing than my dorkiness!" Rilee bellows, kicking the other Riley in the shin.
"SHUT UP!" Riley yells.
It's at this moment i realize i haven't added anything to this conversation at all. i look behind me, seeing a group of girls and boys whispering to each other, seemingly about Riley.
"Hey, don't look now, but Aislinn and her herd of brats are whispering behind our backs," Alayah says.
"Yeah, i just saw them now," i add. "Who are they?"
Iko sighs, Rilee 1 rolls his eyes, and Riley 2 says:
"Oh, that's Aislinn, basically the most popular girl in school."
Iko adds:
"Yeah. You either hate her, or want to be her."
"She has a following of, like, 35 people, but she only actually hangs out with, like, four." Rilee says.
"And she's dating the hottest kid in school, Jonny."
I look over, seeing Aislinn, with red hair to her shoulders, put an arm around a tall, blonde haired, blue eyed boy. I see her laugh and kiss him on the cheek.
"He's the leader of the football team," Riley says.
"That seems pretty stereotypical, doesn't it?" i ask.
"Oh, it is," Rilee sighs.
The other Riley chimes in:
"Oh, and i hear that Jonny doesn't even like her that much anymore. I'm pretty sure they'll break up and she'll date-" she hushes her voice and leans in closer, "-you. Know. Who."
"Wait, who do i know?" i ask. Everyone shushes me.
"We have a bet on who she'll date after her and Jonny break up. We have like almost 100 bucks in it with Ethan and we know who it is. So don't spread it around, or else we won't win the money," Rilee whispers.
"We can split it with you, if you want," Iko adds. I shrug my shoulders. Suddenly, the bell rings.
"K guys, see you later!" Riley says. Everyone exchanges farewells and before you know it, I'm all alone.
