i sit outside school, my bag leaning against my shoulder. i see a black toyota drive in front of school, and i walk towards it.
"Hi, honey! how was your day?" my mom asks. i smile.
"Better than i thought, to be honest." i reply. my mom smiles back.
"Oh, i'm glad to hear that." i buckle into the car and my mom presses on the ignition. i look out the window, seeing of all the kids talking around the school, waiting for their parents or staying for sports practice. And i keep watching the school, and the students, until it leaves my vision.
My mom pulls into the driveway. i grab my bag, stepping out of the car. My mom looks at me and smiles.
"why're you smiling?" I ask.
"I'm just happy this turned out so well." she replies. i smile back. i playfully punch her.
"you have to let me get out of my comfort zone sometime or another." i say. "plus, i can technically drive now."
"oh, not yet! you're still my little girl!"
i laugh and walk into the house.
