I'm sitting here, In a dark deep hole with a cigar in my mouth. The glow from it lighting my sheet. I've been here for like...7 days. This cigar is one of few I've picked up from the local viets. I hope when I get home there'll be ones I can smoke where I'm not afraid of getting shot in the back. I've got maybe 4 left for the week, The others are smoking Menthols but Cigars are so much fuller. We've got a while 'fore we ship out so my memoir is gonna be a bit longer. Soon I'll be on a boat heading back. I've got like a week left of my tour. Heh...Probaly won't last long...But tonight I smoke this cigar and smile as soon I'll be back. Well...looks like we're leaveing soon. Guess this is it. Maybe when I get home I'll go to that old smoothy place down the road. All I've got are some radio's that we juiced up. I love "Paint it Black" by Rolling Stones. Reminds me of my old life before 'Nam. Me and my wife had a bit of falling out as indicated by the letter I received. I'll go back to the states and there'll be my ma' my sister. And that'll be it. Shit I might re-up for another 8 week tour. I almost feel like war is my place. I wonder what I'll do with this check I got. 1,068 dollars just for me and mine. Half of it's going to my ex wife to help my kid.
