Chapter 02: Magical Balls

"Where going on a trip in our favourite little car, driving to the library!" Ivery and Rebacca sing at the top of their lungs. I laugh at their humour. We are going to the library because apparently they also have the same assessment for the end of year.

"Where here!" Esmae turn the car off and pulls the keys out shoving them in her jean pockets. We all get out of the car nearly colliding. I flatten my shirt and clover does the same with her skirt.

We walk towards the door in our 'gang'. We all split up to look for a certain book of the animal. Rebecca chose a horse, Ivery chose a tiger, Esmae chose a killer whale, clover chose a panda (she has an obsession with them) and last but not least me, the dolphin.

I walk down an isle and reach for a book at the top shelf. Curse my shortness. "Esmae, can you get this book?" I whisper to her on the other side. She walks around and grabs the book. It read 'animal secrets' and in tiny writing it said 'animal magic' she passed me the book and I found a seat and began to read.

I got up after about 30 minutes of reading about the dolphin. The book has all sorts of animals. I walked to the front desk to borrow the book. "How may I help you?" A woman that looks in her mid 40's asks me. I smile "I would like to borrow this book." She eyes the book carefully before turning to me and speaking again.

"Careful with this book sweetheart, I've heard many story's about people and this book." This makes me freeze in my tracks. If the front cover says 'magic', does that mean the book has magic included in it? I smile at her and nod my head. I take the book from her hands and find Esmae to tell her about this book.

"I bags Shotgun!" I yell running towards the front seat of the car, holding this precious book. I open the door and jump in clicking my seatbelt on.

Esmae takes off and heads to the bowling alley so we can take our minds off school for a bit and have fun.

Esmae parked her car in a free parking space and we all jump out. We head the the counter to get our shoes. We all roughly have the same size feet except Ivery who has size 5.

"I, am the ultimate champion at bowling and we all know that." We had been arguing for the last twenty minutes on who is the best at bowling. Ivery rolls her eyes at me making me chuckle.

I pick up a heavy light blue ball and make my way to my lane. I throw the ball and it hits the first pin knocking over the rest.

"One pin left!" I exclaim laughing in anger. "I bet I can get a spare!" They roll their eyes at me and Ivery signals me to go on. I pick up the ball rolling it down the slippery wooden floor. "Oh yeah uh ha!" I throw my hands in the air cheering. They all laugh at me.

"Your turn Rebecca!" I shove her off the chair so I can sit down and watch her fail. She groans and picks up a purple ball and makes her way towards the lane. She backs back then slowly jogs towards the lane. She lets go of the ball and slips. She lands on her butt making her rub it. We all begin laughing hysterically at Rebecca's fail. "Oh shut up you guys!" She says while grinning.

After bowling Esmae dropped us of at each of our houses. Esmae won, I came second, clover came third, Ivery came fourth and Rebecca lost due to her terrible bowling skills.

[Clover's P.O.V]

After Esmae dropped me off at me house I greeted the gatekeeper and made my way towards the front door. My father is an actor and my mother is a model, which is why I am pretty (I dream a lot). I open the door and see my brother Mark standing in front of me.

"Hey big bro!" I pull him into a hug and he hugs me back. He just got back from college to visit us for a while. My parents are always busy and are hardly here so that means I'm in charge of the house and my little brother Tyler who is 7 years young. "Your home!" I smile at him. I love my big brother as much as he can be a pain I still love him deep down, same with Tyler. "I'm home." He repeats after me. I let go of him and make my way to the living room.

My brother enters the living room seating himself on the comfy L shape chair. We put a movie on to watch.
I make my way up to my bathroom and strip my clothes off and get in my shower. I let the water drip down as I wash myself clean.

I get out and dry myself with my towel. I throw on my pyjamas that have pandas on them. I button up my shirt and head into my bedroom. I sit on my bed and grab my mac book laptop. I instantly go onto Facebook to check my feed.

I hear my phone buzz next to me and I grab it and read the text. I place my phone down to answer it later.

Avril: Hey, you free tomorrow? I wonder what she wants? And it's on group chat, so she wants all of us tomorrow.
Esmae: Nope, always expensive. After school I am.
Rebecca: Haha Es. Yup I'm free. Xx
Clover: Yep. What are we doing?
Avril: I wanted to do our assessment. The book I borrowed is really strange.
Ivery: yea, may be a bit late my mothers not home till 4 and I can't leave the house without her permission and I can't ask tonight she's on night shift. Cya.

Tomorrow shall be good, apart from school. I head downstairs to see what my brother was making for dinner.

"What's for dinner Mark?" I walk into the kitchen and the smell of chicken snitchel smacks me in the face.

"Chicken snitchel, your fav" he turns to me with a smile that a later return. I walk to the fridge and pour myself a cup of orange juice. I gulp it up quickly and loudly cause my brother to stare at me like i'm demented. I walk into the living room and grab the TV remote to watch some TV.

I decided to watch spongebob squarepants. Who can live without the yellow sponge that lives at the bottom of the sea? Definitely not me.

"Dinners ready Tyler and Clover!" My brother calls from the dinning room. I make my way to the dining room and sit in the big cushiony chair. "Dig in!" Mark smiles at us and I go for biggest one there.

After dinner I brushed my teeth and lay in my bed staring at the ceiling. I head up to my room to study for tomorrow's test in Geology. I open my book and begin reading.

My door opens slowly and quietly and I look to see who it was. My younger brother Tyler. "Yes Ty?" I ask in a soft voice. "I had a bad dream can I sleep in here?" He says frowning while hugging his teddy bear that grandma got him for his second birthday. I nod my head and begin pulling out the bed underneath mine. He lays on it cuddling his teddy bear. Even though he is nine he acts 5 sometimes.

"When are mommy and daddy coming back home?" He looks at me with his brown hair covering his face. "Soon." I reply slowly drifting to sleep.
