Chapter 7

Damen was treating this as a spy mission he said, breaking me out of the hospital and seeing the world. He took me out and away from the hospital entirely today which had me equally excited and nervous. When we got to a road crossing and there were a small amount of people also waiting there I looked to Damen, who didn't bat an eye at it, but I was looking at all of them and taking it all in. Some were talking on their phones, and others were chatting with other people around them...just being around so many people at the same time was a little overstimulating, but in a good freeing way.

"So where exactly are you taking me Damen?" I asked a bit confused. All I know is the hospital staff will be furious when they find out that Damen had taken me not only outside of the hospital, but also god knows far away, but honestly I didn't really care. This is all very exciting for me, and I'd be damned if I allow them into my thoughts to ruin this at all for me right now. So I block all thoughts of the hospital from my mind and give into the unknown before me with Damen by my side leading the way.

"It's a surprise." He said with a devilish care smile that could make anyone fall to the ends of the earth for them. His eyes out here in the sun just picks up and magnifies the colour. Suddenly the light changes, and he grabs my hand and leads me across the roadway bee-lining ahead of everyone else. I looked back and no one seemed to care what was going on outside their own little bubble so I hold on a little tighter to his hand and give him a smile.

As he is leading me to who knows where I have to ask him to slow down a little. We don't need to jog to wherever we are going and he is taller and faster than me and I'm having to try and catch my breath a little bit. "I don't think the hospital personnel will ever let you see me again after today." I said laughing as he held my hand running across the intersections, finally we break down to a walk and he allows me to catch my breath a little. This is the most fun I literally can remember...but this isn't time to think about that sad subject. Just focus on the here and now, and how amazing this feels. This may be the only time where I just get to have some good old fun and not care what happens later. Just live in the moment as I heard Damen tell me a while ago when he could see the cogs in my head turning and overthinking. I like that saying, especially since I have no moments to relate anything to, but still it seems very fitting.

Damen and I walked for another 10 minutes before he gave me a clue towards where it was that we were going. Must have only been from me bothering him once we passed each street and me asking and wondering if we were there yet. "Here, I'll give you a clue to where we are going. It's a bit chilly there, so it's a good thing you have that very stunning sweater with you." He said as he let go of my hand for the first time and started walking backwards in front of me smiling. He quickly turned around and resided his place to where I want him to remain... beside me and holding my hand. Only he didn't reach for my hand when he resumed his place beside me, which made me a little sad but I was not going to push it. Afterall I've only known this person for a couple days, and I'm already feeling a strong attachment to him which frightens me with not knowing what will happen in the near future.

I wasn't paying attention to where abouts we were and to where we may be going. I just thought about the moment I was in. There was a sudden breeze making my hair go to one side and had it covering my face. I pushed it back in time to see the sun hitting Damen's face just in the right way as if trying to make him look even better. He caught me staring at him and he smiled and took my hand in his again, which made me look down and smile to hide the redness that instantly came rushing to my face.

We finally arrived to where Damen's spy mission/hostage situation adventure for the day was. It was a big building that looked about 4 stories high. It was a very long building that looked nothing like the hospital from which we came. It had a red arch at the top of the building with another blue one going through it. We went towards the entrance where there were big automatic doors that when you walked through, they gave a bit of warm air from the ceiling to warm you in preparation I'm guessing for inside which had a slight chill to it. That's when I saw where he was leading me into and oh-my-gosh it was beautiful. I didn't even know what I was looking at, but it was magical. I watched all the other people pass us by while I stood there in awe at everything around me. He pointed over to a area that had glass boards that you could see through and watch the others go around and round inside.

All I knew looking on was that I needed to try that. Even if it was terrifying, I had to experience it... experience something normal that others obviously do all the time.
