Chapter 13
When I finally opened my eyes back into the real world, I fell like crap. My head is pounding like I was beside a train, and my eyes I could feel where swollen and puffy... awesome. I put my hands to my eyes to remove the sleep from them, when I open my eyes, I nearly jump out of my skin. Where am I? I'm on a bed in a little room and I'm under a very plush blanket that is warm from me obviously being here a while. But how did I get here? Last thing I remember was tripping on that damn tree root and deciding to take a nap.
The room I'm in has a rough textured looking wall, and it's as white as snow. I know I'm not back in the hospital because this is a huge upgrade from the hospitals horrible colours, bed, and linens. There wasn't much in the room though to figure out where I might be... there was the bed, a dresser with a lamp on it right beside the bed, and along with the lamp there was also a bucket with water in it and a cloth hanging over the side. This had me puzzled just a little... And there was also a tall 2 door dresser in the far corner of the room over by the door.
That's when I heard a knock at the door and a quiet voice saying, "hello, are you awake?" Without me having time to answer let alone process I wasn't alone, in through the door came a girl. She looked around 5'4 and has shoulder length hair that was the brightest shade of orangey red that I've ever seen! Her hair has gentle waves that helped frame her face, she was gorgeous. After you notice the hair the next striking thing about her was those bright green eyes that complimented her hair so well.
She slowly came into the room and closed the door behind her. I stayed sat in the bed and just stared at her, not knowing who she was, why I'm here, or even how I got here. "Hello there, I'm Eve Evans." She said with a smile. "We found you in the woods last night, you were wet and shivering beside a fallen tree. We tried to wake you, but you wouldn't budge... so I got my boyfriend to carry you back to our cabin with the others." Okay I just had a lot of questions answered without having to say a word, already so much better than the hospital. Wait, how many people are here? There's Eve, her boyfriend, and others? Something about her demeaner and telling me all this information without knowing anything about me gives me the sense that she is trustworthy... but for some reason I get the impression that she's a bit of a know it all from the way she told me the information.
"Hey Eve, I'm Bella. Thank you so much for bringing me here... where exactly is here? And was I alone?" I said sitting up taking the blanket off me to try and start getting up and out of the bed. I then noticed that she was wearing this side bag sort of thing over her shoulder and down her side that was kind of cool looking. So to break the ice I gave it a compliment saying I've never seen one like it before and how it suited her very well.
"Oh thanks, I carry it around with me everywhere. If I don't have it, you know something's wrong." She said lifting it up and walking towards me so I can get a better look at it.
"Who's the girl on it? She looks cool." I said running my figure over the girl's hair on the bag.
"It's Emily the strange. I love her." She said smiling with her eyes full of excitement and questions. "If you don't mind me asking... why where you in the forest alone like that?" She had concern in her eyes as if she understands how I feel but doesn't know what happened, but she seems too nice to be mean, so I'll tell her. Maybe she can help? It hurt hearing her say alone though, so I still had no idea where Damen was and now how he will find me?!
"Well, I have no memory about my past except I used to figure skate and my name is Bella. I was in the hospital and found I guy I really like named Damen and he's been trying to help me get my memory back. Then last night a nurse told him to get me out of there before I get hurt. So, we were running along the road when he stopped to tie his shoe then when I look back, he was gone. I have no idea where he is, and I'm worried sick." I was beginning to get teary eyed from thinking about him and my heartrate has risen substantially. I have to stay strong though, for Damen, so I don't let a tear come from my eye.
