Chapter 27

*Jake and Bella*

It took me almost twice as long to get back to Jake since it was now pitch black out now. I thought I was lost a few times but found my markers I did on the trees. I knew I was almost back because I could make out a small fire in the distance through the trees, awesome! Jake got a fire started. "Hey Jake! I'm back!" I said when I got to the clearing that we found for where we were going to rest for the night. Apparently he was deep in thought or something because he let out a little yelp and jumped back a bit when I spoke. "Haha startled much?" I said laughing as I put the water bottles down by our stuff.

"In my defense you were gone for quite some time. I was actually just thinking about whether or not I should go and try and find you... But my dad always taught me that if you're ever separated from someone who went off and you stayed somewhere. That you stay there, because if I got lost and you got back and then got lost looking for me...We'd be screwed." He said putting a few more branches into the fire while looking at me.

"You're dad was really smart. And hey! I'm not that useless in a forest! I made markers on trees so I wouldn’t get lost. I was just slower coming back since its dark out and I didn’t want to end up getting lost." I said a tiny bit ticked off. What is it with guys thinking girls are horrible with directions?

"Sorry haha didn't mean to offend you Bella. By the way where did you find the water?" He asked going to grab one to drink some.

"I almost gave up until I heard rushing water... I actually found this river like place with a small waterfall. I suggest in the morning we go back and wash up a bit... You need it a bit more so I'll show you and wait here at camp until you come back." I said with a coy smile and moving to my stuff to get my make shift "bed" up and ready for the night.

"We could always just wash together and save time..." I was of course drinking some water when he said this and it came out of my mouth all over the place and me. "Not like that! We wouldn’t be naked, do you seriously think I'd suggest that after all this time Bella? Like really give a guy some props."

"Yes but in my defense how many times have you kissed me now? I have a bit of right to think in that way. Especially when you add on a secluded waterfall, us being alone in the woods.." He did a little cough then said sorry. Was I wrong to think that part of him was thinking that? I say I'm slightly attractive, but that’s just me.

"You're extremely attractive. That’s the problem. Any and every guy could see themselves falling for you Bella. But there is nothing they could do to ever make you see that towards them. And that’s because of your love for Damen." He did a small inward laugh, "I've never seen or even met the guy and I'm already jealous of the guy." He said whilst getting into his sleeping bag and turning away from me so I couldn’t see his face. "Goodnight Bella, see you in the morning."
