Amanda's POV

My very first case. Definitely not exited but rather intrigued. The scenario is as expected, yellow tapes, bright ambulance lights, running cops and loads of onlookers.

"Hi I'm Amanda Bytes, Child activist".

" Yes Amanda. This way please"

I followed the woman into the ambulance, just to see a child, bruised from head to toe. Im pretty sure it hurt a lot but she slept peacefully unknown to the cruel world.

"This is the child we found. Her name is Emily. Shes sound asleep now. We injected her with sedatives otherwise she wouldn't stop crying.

" What happened to her"? I asked curiously.

" The worst scenario so far. alcoholic father and his friends, gang raped her mother. Apparently they had some money debt. They brutally tortured her to death, making the child watch everything ,luckily thy didn't sexually assault the kid but did physically torture her. Thinking that both of them were dead, they locked them in a cellar. The child was alive but unconscious ,she stayed with her mother's corpse for almost two weeks now.The neighbors reported a complaint about foul smell and when we looked into it,this is what we found".

God. It was better to be dead rather than live the rest of your life with such a twisted past. How brutal and heartless some people can be.How this incident is going to have an impact on her in her later years is uncertain. But for now, I have to stay by her side and shower her with all the light to bring her to the right path. She deserves more in life and i can make that happen. Such a tender age; such a traumatized mind;such an unfair fate.

"Shes awake Amanda".

I turned to see two soulless eyes bore into mine but what an angelic face she had.

" Emily, my dear, do you know who I am?"I smiled.

She looked at me with uncertainty and fear. And that was the kind of look i was determined to change.

"Its Amanda, your godmother who's always going to be by your side through thick and thin". I smiled.
