The brakes slammed on and a sharp right turn was taken.

Whoever laid out the roads into the Melbourne airport deserved their teeth to be kicked in honestly.

Nothing was signed and it was super confusing to simply find the Qantas arrival area.

So obviously May was relieved to pull up into the pick up bay. She saw Ria ready and waiting for her, duffle bag, tote bag and handbag on her left side and her right hand resting on a the largest suitcase in all creation. Attatched the the top was a matching but significantly smaller square makeup box. All the luggage was a matching set that May had recieved for her eighteenth birthday and then passed down to Ria after her many travels. She'd hoped they would take her to as many exotic places they'd managed to take her.

Swinging the drivers door open May quickly made her way over to her sister with rushed steps. Tears welled in both their eyes as they embraced for the first time in over a year.
'My darling, I've missed you so much' May spoke into her sisters neck, hugging her as tightly as possible.

Ria had visibly grown taller and her style had changed but she was still the same girl in personality. She loved May with all her heart and was proud to call her sister.

There was a generous age gap between them, 5 years to be precise. May was currently twenty-one whilst Ria was almost sixteen.

And now it was just them against the world.

May had become Ria's legal guardian now that she had moved to Australia for a more permanent stay. The new arrangement meant that Ria could finish her high school life in Australia before choosing whether she would want to go to university.

She'd been accepted into one of Melbournes most prestigious schools. The fact that she could not only speak Spanish and English equally well but in fact she was learning French from May as well as slowly studying various others was a massive bonus in the principals eyes. Her interest in music had helped but ultimately Mays newly acquired social standing and networking had secured her the spot.

They'd be living together in Mays inner city apartment. Ria's school was only minutes away via the tram whilst May struggled with an early traffic debacle in her company town car.

For her young age May had accomplished that of someone double her age. Two years ago after graduating high school she had applied for a job at a brand new high fashion magazine. Of which had completely taken off unexpectedly. Soon her small contributing writing position had advanced to junior editor until only recently when the editor and founder of The Label had sold the magazine to an Australian tycoon for a massive profit.

Listed in Marie Clair's 'Top 100 most powerful women' as number 3 overall and number one under the category of style, May had found herself lost in the frenzy of personal assistants and high profile personalities at the biggest party of the year. A particularly mousy looking bottle blonde had been interviewing her and asked what the first thing she would do being the new editor in chief at The Label. The first thing she'd do? Bring her much loved sister to the country to live the experience along side of her was the first thing that had sprung to her mind. But instead of answering her in such am informal way that could potentially put her position in jeopardy, she answered with 'get in contact with Beyoncé' which was recieved with laughter and nods of approval.

But in true May Elise Notes style she had kept her unspoken word and brought Ria to Australia to be with her.

'So welcome home!' May said as she swung the door to the apartment open.

They walked into the foyer of the large open planned home. The foyer led to the kitchen and living room and looked out on to the city through the large panoramic windows. The apartment was in the eureka tower building, the second tallest building in the Australia. Although the apartmet wasn't at the top, it was also no where near the bottom. The landlord had taken May on after her ex-boss had moved to New York City to expand her horizons.

'Wow' was the first word out of Ria's mouth. May just nodded with the exact same expression on her face.

'I know right. How over the top is it! To think we live here' her airy tone said it all.

'I absolutely love it! Thank you so much May!' Ria's mouth was going a mile a minute. This whole day had been like a movie scene playing before her eyes. This was her new beginning. She felt a strange sense of calm, comfortable in her new surrounds already. She was shocked, grateful and absolutely starving all at the same time.

'So what's for food?' Ria said in a cheeky tone.

May rolled her eyes. 'It's 2am you idiot' she laughed but grabbed her keys and purse again anyway.
