Logan's POV
I woke up to Aimee shifting in her sleep. I glanced at my watch, 9:27am. I thought I should let Aimee sleep a little longer. I closed my eyes but sleep wouldn't come. I kept thinking about what we would discove outside of the house, how long we would be living like this, who survived this disaster and who didn't. But most of all, I kept thinking about Aimee and what terms we were on. I wanted to be her friend and be there for her when she needed me. I wanted her to trust me like I trusted her.
Aimee started to stir again. I looked down at her and she was looking at me with shock in her eyes. She got up with such speed that I was stunned. "Oh my god, I'm sorry!" she exclaimed. "For what?" I asked, quite confused. "For... well... you know... what just happend." she stuttered. I suddenly realised what she ment. "Aimee you don't need to be sorry. I want to be here for you when ever you need me. I want to be your friend. You may be a geek but your still my next door neighbour and childhood friend." I said hoping she would see that I ment everything I said. I looked at her and was shocked and confused by what I saw in her ice-blue eyes. Shock, anger, hurt and most of all... hatred. She spun on her heels and stormed to te door. "Aimee, whats wrong?! What did I do?!" I called after her as she walked out of the room. Either she didn't hear me or chose not to aknowledge that I said anything as she kept walking.
I ran after her. I called out to her but I got nothing in return. I watched as Aimee grabbed her bag and headed for the front door, picking her way over the ruble and debris. I grabbed her shoulder and tried to pull her back but she just shrugged off my hand. Aimee reached for the door handle and wrenched open the door. We both stumbled back as we were both blinded by a brilliant red light. I heard Aimee gasp. I stepped next to her and pulled her behind me in a protective stance. She struggled but I held my ground and didn't let her move. "Stay here." I ordered. "You can't tell me what to do anymore Logan!" Aimee said with such ice and venom in her voice that I was quite taken aback. "Whats that supposed to mean?!" I exclaimed "You know excatly what it means so don't play dumb with me!" she screamed at me and with that she ran out of the door and down the terrorised street. Lamp-posts ripped from the ground, houses in ruins and bodies... bodies of people we knew and loved. As I came out of my daze I looked around for Aimee but she was no where to be found. "Aimee!!" I screamed out for her, frantic and worried. With that I went running down the street and the direction I asumed Aimee headed, looking for her, thinking "What if I never see her again?" ...
