Logan's POV
I woke up happy that morning even though the worlds most feared "natural" disater had just happend. I looked at my watch which I had remembered to grab off of my bedside cabinet before coming to see if Aimee was okay. It was 5.36am. I started to shake Aimee gently to try and wake her. She stirred in her "bed" and rolled over to look at me. She squinted her eyes against the light coming from the kitchen window over looking the garden. I looked over after a shocked look came over Aimee's beautiful face. Wait, beautiful? Don't know where that came from... Anyway, I helped Aimee up from her sleeping place and said "Aimee whats wrong?". She didn't answer, she just pointed to the kitchen window with the same shocked look on her face. I sat her on the floor and walked over to the kitchen window. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! The sky was heavy with clouds but they were blood read!! My jaw dropped. I started to feel the ground shake, I knew what was coming I ran to the living room and to my surprise Aimee ran right into my arms. As she buried her face in my chest I picked her up and carried her bridal style to the basement. As Aimee wrapped her small arms around my neck I tighten my grip on her to give her reasurance and because I was on the verge of loosing my balance as the shaking was getting more and more violent. Aimee's Dad and I had built a panic room in the basement for times such as these. I opened the door and carried Aimee inside, as I tried to lay her down on the bed in the panic room but she refused to un-wrap her arms from my neck. "Please don't leave me." she whispered. "Don't worry I wont but you have to let go babe." Wait a minute! Did I just call Aimee babe? Wow, things are getting strange around here. She loosed her vice grip on my throat and lay back on the bed. I climbed in next to her and she snuggled up to me. I smiled, "I'm scared Logan!" Aimee cried out. My smile faded, "Don't worry, I'm here Aimee. I wont let anything hurt you." I whispered sweet nothings into her ear untill we both fell asleep. The last thing I remember thinking before the darkness of slumber took me was 'looks like the exploring thing has to be posponed again'. And with that, we both fell into a dreamless, haunted sleep...
