Rose's POV
After an hour and a half of small talk it went quiet in our compartment. Albus had gone in search of his elder brother James and our cousin Fred Weasley II. Which left me alone with a napping Scorpius.
I was reading Hogwarts: A History for about the 100th time since I received the book a few weeks ago when I heard a sad whimper. I looked up to see Scorpius jerk slightly in his sleep. He was mumbling words like 'Please don't.' And 'I'm sorry'
I looked at him in concern. Yes, concern. In the hour or so we all spent chatting Scorpius joked around with us. He uttered a few insults and I can easily say that his smirk made him look like a git. But there was something about him.
I have grown to at least consider him an acquaintance. Scorpius whimpered once again pulling me from my thoughts. I looked at the blonde haired boy. His hair was now matted down on his sweat slicked forehead and he seemed to be slightly shaking. I quickly stood up and walked to sit beside him.
I shook his arm roughly but when he didn't come to. I slapped him, rather hard might I add, across the face.
"Malfoy! Wake up!" I shouted urgently when I hit him. Scorpius jerked awake jumping up out of his seat, almost hitting his head on the trunk compartments.
He glared down at me.
"Why'd you wake me, Weaslette?" he asked rather harshly.
"You were whimpering in your sleep. I thought you were having a nightmare. You're welcome, Malfoy," I snapped right back standing up glaring at the blonde haired boy. He stood about an inch taller than me but the way he held his head up high made him seem a bit taller so I had to look up to look into those grayish blue orbs of his.
"Well I suppose you want me to say thank you?" Scorpius sneered at me as he seemed to step closer.
I crossed my arms over my chest, glaring as I tapped my foot impatiently but my heart beating rapidly in my chest.
"It'd be nice."
"Well then....tha,-"
"Hey guys. Time to change into our robes. The train is about to stop," the compartment door swung open to reveal a nervously smiling Albus. His smile soon faltered when he saw Scorpius and I.
"What's going on here?" he asked raising his eyebrows questioningly.
"Nothing...I've got to find Roxie. I'll see you guys later!" I quickly pushed past my confused cousin and raced out or the compartment in search of my cousin.
Scorpius's POV
I watched as Rose practically ran out of the compartment, smirking slightly. Draco was right. Even in the first year, Malfoy charm still worked. I shook my head chuckling. I didn't think it'd actually work. Let alone in the first hour of meeting her but it did.
Now don't get me wrong. I don't like Rose, I only used my charm to get under her skin. It was a bit of revenge if you wanna call it.
She slapped me! What do you expect? My fair complexion will have a red handprint for days which is not cool.
I came from my thoughts when Albus cleared his throat. I looked at him.
