Albus' POV
We walked up the steps of the giant medieval looking castle and I was already shaking nervously. I felt a presence at my sides and turned my head to see Scorpius and Rose standing on either side of me. Scorpius looked at me and smirked a smirk worthy of a Malfoy. I could see the joking look in his eyes to show he was only being a jokester."Nervous, Potter?" he asked.
"No. Are you nervous, Malfoy?" I asked as I glanced back at the castle.
"Never."
"Oh shush the both of you. You aren't the only nervous ones here, for Merlin sake. Stop denying that you are a bunch of nervous wrecks," Rose scolded us.
"I'm not nervous!" Scorpius and I both shouted at her. Rose rolled her eyes and walked inside ignoring our protest. We followed after her, along with the rest of our class.
We stopped outside a set of large double doors that towered over all of us. There by the doors stood, Neville Longbottom. He was awesome. He teaches Herbology because he loved it ever since he was little. He's the nicest man around. He used to take me and my little sister, Lilly on trips around his garden so huge it almost matched the Forbidden forest in size and show us all the different magical plants.
"Welcome first years. Behind those doors is the beginning of your school career here at Hogwarts. The time will be tough at times, trust me I know," he flashed a small generous smile, "But it wall also be the best time of your lives. Now once inside you will stand in like and I will call you by name to be sorted by our Sorting Hat. Once you are sorted you are to sit at your designated table and wait until the sorting is finished. Are you all ready?"
No one said a word, so I'm assuming Neville took that as a yes. He smiled once again.
"Alright then. Let's go in. And good luck to all of you," his eyes landed on Rose and I and he winked before turning and pushing open the double doors and walking into the giant Great Hall.
We all followed after him and to say I was amazed is an understatement. My father and brother told me that the Great Hall was one of the most magical places in Hogwarts, especially on the first day and they were correct.
The ceiling wasn't even a ceiling. It was the sky. A clear night sky with stars twinkling and the moon shining bright. Candles floated in the air over four very large tables.
I looked at the tables and noticed the older members of my family spread out and waving. My cousins Fred and Victoire Weasley, alongside my brother James sat at what I assumed was the Gryffindor table all wearing matching grins as they saw us. My cousin Louis Weasley, Victoire' brother and my god brother, Teddy Lupin both sat the Hufflepuff. Louis seemed to be dozing off but Teddy grinned like a Cheshire Cat.
I looked towards the teacher's table and I saw Hagrid sitting there conversing with my father who was the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. My father turned his head and caught my eye. He flashed me a grin and winked giving me a thumbs up.
Then I looked over at Dominique, Victoire's sister and Molly Weasley one of my other cousins sat at the Ravenclaw table. Molly's nose was in a book but Dominique waved at Rose and I like she hadn't seen us in forever.
I bumped into someone's back and immediately realized we stopped. I looked up to see who I had bumped into. I saw a mess of dirty blonde hair, he turned his head. He had bright gold eyes that seemed to shine. He flashed me an amused smile.
"You alright?" he asked.
"I'm fine," I said.
"I'm Lorcan. Lorcan Scamander," he extended his hand out to me and I took it.
