Beep. Beep. Beep. I was going to go insane soon. Beep. Beep. Beep. I wish it would shut up! Beep. Beep. Be-. "Whoops! Sorry!" A girl next to me said laughing with a nurse in the bed next to me. "What are you like?" The nurse said smiling at her and the girl mirrored the smile. She had the most beautiful smile. It was as though time stood still when she smile. It reminded me of Bruno Mars song 'just the way you are'
''when you smile. The whole world stops and stares for a while.''
I snapped out of my daydream as the doctor appeared next to me. "Lift please" he said signalling at my broken arm. I gave him a look almost to say are you having a laugh? But he didn't care. I lifted my arm and pain rushed through it and I squealed. "Owch!" I said but the doctor didn't seem to care and left me alone. I looked at my phone and sighed. Only mid day. "You moan like a girl." Someone said and I looked around finding the person who had said that. "It was me." The girl in the bed next to me said laughing. "You do though. You moan like a girl!" She said laughing her head of at me. I hadn't realised I was that funny! "I'm sorry. In pain though." I said awkwardly as she brushed her long red hair with her hand. "I know what you mean." She said sympathetically. I smiled. "You hurt yourself too?" I asked trying to make conversation. She looked at me and smiled but I could see she was faking it. "No. I'm ill." She said bluntly.
"Oh get well soon" I said awkwardly.
"Thanks." She said and with that she pulled off her hair. All in one go. Now, I know it's rude to stare but she sat there and pulled all her hair off. Revealing a bald head underneath. "I know. I'm bald! Pretty amazing huh?" She said laughing at me. I couldn't reply. I didn't know what to say to her. "I have cancer." She explained smiling. I looked at her and gave a quick smile. How could she be so positive? How could you just be like 'I have cancer' and then smile. "I'm Aurora by the way." She said holding out her hand. I walked over to her and shook her hand. "I'm James." I said.
"James. James Bond." She said laughing. I got that joke often. But I still smiled. "You going to stare at me like I'm an animal at the zoo all day or?" She said awkwardly. I quickly walked away muttering sorry to her. "So James what brings you hear on this spiffing day?" Aurora said putting on a pretend posh voice. "Fell out a tree." I said and she shook her head laughing. "Idiot." She said, "well I'm here because I took a wierd turn and they won't let me go home. Hooray!" She said smiling. There was something about Aurora which made me wonder. Wonder about her past and her future. "How long do you have?" I said and hit myself. How could I be so stupid to ask her that? I didn't even know her. I walked out the room not expecting a reply but I got one. "Eh a month without an operation and a few more with one." She said and a year fell down my face. I never cry. Never but yet this girl who I had only met a few minutes ago was making me cry. "I'm sorry." I said and she half smiled as I walked back into the room. "It's not your fault." She said laughing, "life's a pain. Now if you excuse me I need to fangirl." She said reaching for her phone. "Wait what?" I said confused. Fangirl? What was that? Was it the latest game everyone wanted? "Fangirl. The way girls express their emotions for something they love involving an attack on the keyboard in excitement and saying omg my ovaries whenever you see a new picture, video or song by them. Them can be a tv show, band, singer anything." She said making it sound like a definition out of a dictionary. "And I fangirl over a boy band called The Wanted." She said typing away on her phone. The Wanted. I knew those guys. I had heard one of their songs the other day. What was it called again? The one which was number one and a summer anthem? Glad... "glad you came." I said and she sighed.
" Yeah that's them. Hate it when people only know that song. But yeah, you like it?" She asked and I nodded. "Good." She said winking and looking slightly creepy.
"So..." I said trying to make conversation again. We talked for hours about her beloved The Wanted and I have to admit they sound a bunch of good guys. "James. Time to go" The nurse said smiling and I got up to leave. "Bye." Aurora said smiling and I walked over to her and gave her a hug. She made a noise which I guess was shock and gave me a hug back. "See you soon." I said smiling and she replied saying "yeah... see you"

It's never goodbye
No FicciónI had a task in school the other day to write a story. I wrote this in a space of an hour as it's about someone very special to me who I unfortunately lost to a brain tumor a week ago today (16/5/13). This does mention The Wanted as they have a huge...
