Hunter joining our practice, made the pressure of playing such a big arena deflate, immensely. The drills were taken lightly and we had fun with rehearsing rather than all four of us breaking into fits at the same time, similar to how yesterdays practice went.
It took Camille, Cole, the band, our pregnant vocal coach in Seattle, and most the rest of our crew to calm us.
"Dublin... wow." I smiled, turning from the lights. "You guys look fantastic tonight, are you excited?" I yelled into my mic. I left it to the girls as I turned my mic off, switching my headset on, and getting my acoustic.
"We've brought a guest with us." Rylee chirped, raising her eyebrows to me.
"You think Dublin's a fan of Country?" I ask.
"Even if they aren't, they'll love him." Aspen spoke.
"To open our tour It's Your Beauty, give a big welcome to our friend, Hunter Hayes!" I announced.
"Dublin! How are we tonight?" I heard his voice in the speakers. I could see him run into view from the back. He hit his bass once, my sign to start with the plucking. I got into the second set and Aspen started the song with Hunter. They made it to the chorus and I slung my acoustic behind me, hopping down the two stairs I was on, and holding my earpiece in place.
"Secret love, all the things we do, secret love baby me and you got a secret love."
"Love." Rylee joined me.
"Staying under cover and out of sight, if nobody knows then we're doing it right." Hunter and Naomi took the last of the chorus.
I could feel myself already starting to get lightheaded so I only sat and played the rest of the song sitting against one of the railings and sang my last verse with Hunter.
"Wooh, thank you Dublin!" Hunter had shouted.
"Thank you, Hunter. It was great seeing you." Aspen slung her arm around him.
"Group hug!" I heard Naomi behind me and tugged me into the hug as well.
"Thanks for having me girls, hopefully we can do it again."
To end the show we had to do It's Your Beauty, since it was our closer.
"Thank you, and goodnight Croke Park!" I was first off stage, with Naomi at the rear.
"Celine," I heard, turning at my name. I held my breath seeing Mel. "Call in five." She glanced around us. I nodded, and accepted the towel one of the stagehands was offering. I swiped it across my face and grinned as I bumped into Aspen.
"My bad," I chuckle.
"What do they keep bugging about?" She pants, leaning against me, as we went back to the make up room.
"It's a call." I shrug. A call, we quickly learned, refers to a short word, usually with Matty, about something important. I made my way to the stool beside the counter where the waters were. It was immediately swallowed within seconds. I refilled the bottle and waited until the room was cleared for changing.
I switched out of my outfit and into a sweater, leggings, and found my boots.
"Ladies we're on the bus in fifteen." Someone called.
"I'll meet you guys in the bus." I smacked Rylee's thigh as I passed, then picked up my bag near the door, and made my way up to the same room I was in earlier. "Hey." I said, making Mel look up from the stack of papers she had.
