Chapter 3: Pull yourself together and tell

I can't believe Katniss knocked Gale unconscious, better yet: I cant believe he said those things about

her.

I'm currently sat in the nurses with Finnick while the nurse assesses Gale's injuries. "Well you've got a badly broken nose but other than that and your pride you're fine." She tells us and leaves.

"Man, you should know better than to mess with Kat, after all she did put both Fay and Haley in hospital. I don't care if Fay is my stupid twin sister, she deserved it, so did Haley, and so do you!" I spit in his face.

I refuse to look in his face which I'm sure is sorrowful but I can't bear to look, I refuse to look.

"I'm sorry but I have to agree with Peeta on this one. Gale you treat Katniss like shit, like she's the worse thing that ever happened on this world. What happened dude? You used to be inseparable, now you can't wait to get away from her. What the hell is wrong with you?!" Finn nearly shouts.

I'm glad at least someone's on my side. Backing me up: defending my opinion, defending Katniss.

"You never told us your reason, but now I've had enough of your bullshit and I'm pretty damn sure Peeta had enough of it years ago, I was just to dumb not to. EXPLAIN YOUR ASS NOW!"

I glance over at Gale and he looks utterly ashamed and guilty.

AND SO HE SHOULD. HE'S SUCH A JERK! I think to myself.

Finn and I stare at him for ages and wait for his answer, which may I just add he will give us whether he wants to or not: the easy way or the hard way. He seems to have an inner battle with himself and I just snap, I guess he chose the hard way.

I grab the collar of his shirt pick him up so his feet are not on the ground and screen at him. "GALE PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER AND JUST BLOODY TELL US OR I'LL GET KAT TO BREAK A MORE IMPORTANT BONE IN YOUR BODY!"

"Alright, alright" he says sounding defeated. I put him down. It was actually the first thing he's said since he woke up.

My eyes widen when he tells us why he's been such a dick towards Kat. It makes my blood boil and I see red. I clench my jaw, kick him in his sweet spot and storm out, his words still ringing in my ears:

"B-because...b-because I...I rum...I just...I'm just so madly in love with her, I"m falling to hard but no-one's there to catch me."
